Adam Deadman talks us through the best bets of an action-packed evening's racing at Wimbledon.
NAP 20.00 Hit and Run
Tony Taylor's son of Droopys Vieri steps up to the six bend trip for the first time this evening, a task I think he can handle a lot better than his rival on his outside Black it Aint. A draw outside veteran stayer, Champagne Babe is the equivalent of a free pass to the first bend so there will be no excuses if he can't take gold tonight. Rooster Thaksin looks to have a lot on his plate in the stripes and can be ruled out on this occasion.
NB 22.00 Wayward Ted
The experienced Wayward Ted gets the nod tonight thanks to a welcome downgrade to A2 company even though I can acknowledge he isn't it career best form. A strong dog who can often bully his way to a clear run, Ted will turn a length or two off the pace and exert his superior back straight speed down the back straight. There should be some room to manoeuvre on the outside as Perrys Merry and Holborn Rover are not the most rapid away at this level.
Value Bet 22.30 Sevendollar Bar
Given the stripes this evening after becoming something of a regular in orange over recent weeks I give this Paul Donovan-trained runner every chance to get another A2 victory on his card. A strong running sort with good all-round pace could benefit from trouble on his inside and it would be reasonable to suggest he will catch likely leader Gifted Eagle. Ex Paul Hennessy runner Priceless Santa will probably have a decent career at the don and looks talented.
Get it Beat! 21.45 Well Park Star
One of my favourite dogs at the track gets a downgrade into A3 after a short layoff and I'm going to take the chance that he's still not really firing on all cylinders. He didn't look like his old self last time out and while the rest has probably done him good i'd prefer to see him chasing like he used to before putting my money down. Roquefort Zenia looks a powerful sort coming over from Ireland and would be my favourite to hold the selection.
