Helenas Ted to set standard in 21:04
Helenas Ted (T5), one of two locally-based runners in the line-up, looks an interesting prospect in the Site Operative Solutions Puppy, an open race run over 400 metres and due underway at Romford at 21:04.
Droopys Giuliano (T1) a frustrating sort that faces a tough task. With Paul Young's trouble-prone contender currently enduring a 15-race losing spell, the March 05 whelp - whose last-time conqueror Bonville Gerrard franked the form on Thursday - needs to find improvement to figure in the finish.
Tursdale Comet (T2) a much improved performer at home track Pelaw Grange, she faces her first venture into open company. Tom Griffiths' pup, successful in three of her last four races, appears up against it at this level.
Millies Our Star (T3) looked in good order when making all the running to score in an A3 at Peterborough last time and should be in the firing line early doors. However, Jenny March's raider, the winner of just one race from seven starts over the course and distance, may prove to be vulnerable to a finishing kick.
Barnfield King (T4) a lightly raced individual, caught clock watchers' eyes when posting a fast 24.45 trial the other day. The promising May 05 whelp, set to be flanked by two slick starters, is worth monitoring in the pre-race skirmishes for positive vibes.
Helenas Ted (T5) looked impressive when producing a trap-to-wire performance last month in a sizzling 24.43, would go close with a reproduction of that effort. If none the worse for his rough ride at Coventry the other day, a smart show is anticipated.
Greenlough Kew (T6) has little to prove on the calculated clock, is becoming a touch disappointing. Still a maiden after nine career starts, Ernie Gaskin's Walthamstow raider may well appeal to layers.
You Did What has draw advantage in 21:20
You Did What (T1) looks nicely positioned for a big performance in the Maiden Stayers, run over 575 metres and due underway at 21:20. Paul Young's bitch, who boasts a wonderful mix of strong pace and stamina, looks set to avoid the early traffic problems from the inner. With the July 03 veteran having posted a fast 36.35 in November, the clock should not present a worry to her prospects, and a bold show is expected.
Commons Bale (T2) comes here in rude health, and with Peter Payne's hound chasing a hat-trick, the fast-away son of Carlton Bale is expected to take a prominent early position. However, the clock does not lie and the veteran appears to need to improve appreciably to win.
Home Luck (T3) winner of three of her last four races but has more on her plate here. Maxine Locke's bitch, who may struggle to lead in this company, looks worth taking on.
Ballymac Lee (T4) ran commendably when runner-up in an open last August and may well prove to be the pick of the 'away' team. With Alison Kelly's charge boasting more scope for improvement over the trip than most, it would come as no surprise to see several backers chance their arm.
Aero Desire (T5) was formerly based at Walthamstow and is set to have her first run with Paul Young. Customers are strongly advised to scan the pre-race market since the Romford trainer is more than capable of readying a greyhound to win following an absence.
Watch It Rock (T6) is currently on an 11-race losing run and looks difficult to catch right. With Paul Sallis' sluggish Hall Green raider having failed to land a gamble in an A2 at his local track recently, the layers will most probably be waiting to press the magic button.
Cagey Luke to strike in 22:08
Cagey Luke (T6) looks the class act in the Site Operative Solutions Standard, run over 400 metres and due underway at 22:08.
Sewmaster (T1) caused an upset when coming from behind to score over the course and distance the other day, will have to improve on that display to record a repeat success. With Jason Foster's veteran needing to leave the gates on fire, backers should know their fate early doors.
Murlens Paraic (T2) is the winner of eight races from 19 career starts, but would probably have preferred to wear the red jacket. However, with Jenny March's fast-up son of Droopys Vieri coming here in fine fettle, he cannot be ruled out.
Ceroc Dancer (T3) has landed two successive A1 events here last month, but has more to do at this level. Jim Reynolds' veteran, who failed to shine in a couple of trials over hurdles, looks worth opposing.
Never Alone (T4) is a winner of four races from his last six starts, but needs to improve on the clock to feature in an event of this nature. However, with Paul Young's charge boasting terrific pace from the machine, an unlikely success is not out of the question.
Gottabe Magic (T5) is yet to win in open company at the London Road circuit and is currently on a six-race losing run. One positive note though, is the fact that Maxine Locke's old boy produced some of his sparkle in a recent trial.
Cagey Luke (T6) has the best of the draw and looks set to take the beating. Impressive over the course and distance in December, John Mullins' Coventry raider - who is open to bags of improvement - should make them all go.
