Our Vieri, who made a winning debut in an A1 contest on Thursday's BAGS card at Romford, looks set to tackle the Open racers in due course.
Smartly into his stride from trap two in the 400m contest, Jim Reynolds' charge proceeded to make all the running in most impressive fashion, pulling well clear at the line to score by seven-and-three-quarter lengths from kennelmate Lady Donna in a fast 24.48 with a number of decent yardsticks well in arrears.
The likeable August 04 whelp, who made a successful debut in modest A8 company last August, is arguably one of the most progressive greyhounds to be running at the London Road circuit at present.
The winner of eight races from 23 lifetime starts, the promising son of Droopys Vieri looks set to continue to thrill the locals with his front-running style.
It would come as no surprise to envisage backers scouring the Romford advance cards in search of Our Vieri's next engagement.
