Professor Leighton Vaughan Williams, ‘The Betfair Prof’, is Professor of Economics and Finance and Head of Economics Research at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, as well as Director of the Political Forecasting Unit and the Betting Research Unit. He is also the editor fo the Journal of Prediction Markets.

He was educated at University College, Cardiff and Hertford College, Oxford University, and holds a first-class honours degree and a PhD in Economics. Professor Vaughan Williams is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and Editor of the Journal of Prediction Markets. He has published extensively in the academic literature, including 'Models, Markets, Polls and Pundits: A Case Study', published in 'Information Efficiency in Financial and Betting Markets' (Cambridge University Press) and 'How to Forecast an Election: and How to Win One!', commissioned by 'The Polling Report'.
