The Hawk selects two more greyhounds from the virtual kennel...
Four dogs ran from the virtual kennel last week and although Blueshavemorefun won at [3.25] (SP) we also had three losers. Mistley Palace lost by a short head and a head at [4.0], while Ashfield Tiger and Coolanoran Black were hampered in their races and both finished last.
Mill Ethan Newcastle A3
Not a young dog, this Top Honcho July 2004 whelp has raced 144 times but his last two outings in A3 class shows he can get back on the winning trail soon having not won in eight. But his last win was in this class and he's not up to the A2 grade he has been racing in. I expect him to win at this lower level. Mill Ethan invariably gets behind early and if granted a clear run from an inside draw he can win within his next three runs. He was beaten by just a half a length last time at Newcastle, and the time before finished strongly to take third. His time is near.
Julie Kinsley
Julie took my eye at Kinsley at the weekend. The February 2006 bitch has won five times in A5 and last Sunday she went down by 2.75 lengths despite being bumped. She shows plenty of early zip but as she tends to come into the rails at the first bend she may well need slower starters inside to aide her in her races. She was led at the sectional last time, but battled back and if she can utilise her trapping speed to hold a position coming out of the second turn next time I can see her being difficult to pass. I noticed she cut in at the final bend and then drifted wide up the straight. This means she could be a very difficult dog to pass on the home straight.
