The Lord's hot dogs

There have been plenty of impressive performers in recent days - let The Lord lead you through the ones to watch.

It might have been straightforward, but it wasn't the result most of expected in the TV Trophy.
Bubbly Eagle went to traps a warm order after running away with his heat, but Midway Skipper won very much on merit and there were few excuses in behind. It's a case of well done to connections, but no great shakes when it comes to future winning-spotting.
But that wasn't the case with the rest of the card.

Kilkenny Lonjack (pictured) showed super pace to rout his rivals over four bends and, now back after an Irish campaign, should continue to be followed.

He was Derby class a year or so ago, and looked not far off his best in winning in midweek.
His kennelmate Brimardon Star also remains in good heart and showed why when coming through after a slow start over 706m, but Droopys Eugene showed good pace in behind and but first bend scrimmaging will have finished closer. Keep tabs with Elaine Parker's well bred sort.

Ardkill Tunoco rightly took the plaudits when winning the Tyneside Derby, but Mill Pinpoint is a winner in waiting next time. The pair were head and shoulders above the rest in the early pace department and Kelly Macari's dog looks a player for the Sunderland Festival.

Keep an eye out also for Lenson Bolt, who won the first at Newcastle on TV Trophy night.

The latest of Len Ponder's flying machines, he took off in the puppy race before fading on the testing run for home behind Boys Of Summer. Chances are that the latter is also above average the way he started and stayed on.

But Lenson Bolt did show exceptional pace after completely missing the kick. Like his namesake, a few more gold medals await.

As for the rest, Bellpac Moonbeam was desperate in the sprint and is clearly in good form if a winning opportunity can be found; Ballymac Roger looked a stayer in the making when finishing fast over four bends to win a maiden late on; Droopys Arshavin continues on the upgrade, while Southern Sunset flashed home in the luck last after completely falling on her nose at the traps. Get on next time!

The Cesarewitch is next up in front of the Sky cameras, and while it might be asking too much of him to score with speedsters Romeo Turbo and He went Whoosh in the field, White Blaze may still run with distinction.

He's not been able to blaze a trail like he prefers in either heat or semi, but has not given up in behind. If ever leading up, he could be gone beyond recall.
If not Tuesday, then maybe Friday at Romford!

Elsewhere, keep tabs with Paradise Miami. The Hove-based dog of Seamus Cahill's ran a stormer in a sprint at Hove last week they tell me, and is not even a two-bend performer. He was beaten by Ballymac Pines, who followed up this week, so the form is solid.
Longer distances and bigger races beckon for this youngster.
