The Lord's Dogs Column: Bound To Air looks a right tool

A big week lies ahead for greyhound punters with the Laurels final at Belle Vue on Tuesday, which is Sky's next port of call. But there's also been plenty of open-racing to get stuck into over the last seven days - and The Lord has been a-watching and digesting.
"Two other eye-catchers from the Wolverhampton track's meeting were Fabulous Gwen, who could hit the heights again when back up in trip, and Head Iton Paul, who might have the measure of Micks Ginger should they meet again."
At Hove last Sunday, Matt Dartnall unveiled two nice youngsters at Hove in the a shape of litter-mates Baran Pimlico and Baran Colorado and, win or lose back at the Sussex track tonight (Thursday), they are worth staying with.
Another couple of dogs from that meeting to keep tabs with are Droopys Del Sol, a choicely-bred sort of Chris Lund's who careered away from his rivals over six bends, and Lenson Maymay, who chased home the aforementioned Baran Colorado over four bends. He is looks a nice stayer in the making.
Moving on to Monmore on Saturday night and Stoneyholme Vito might have cost punters a packet over 480m, but really didn't get the rub of the green throughout and should be backed next time up.
Two other eye-catchers from the Wolverhampton track's meeting were Fabulous Gwen, who could hit the heights again when back up in trip, and Head Iton Paul, who might have the measure of Micks Ginger should they meet again. However, the winner was a Lord special a few weeks back, for those with good memories!
So to Nottingham's Produce Stakes heats on Monday and a chance to see the British-breds shine in their main event of the year.
Westmead Logan looks the one to beat on an exemplary show in the heats, but we know his form now and any big prices are unlikely!
Those to watch heading into the second round and onwards include his kennelmate Westmead Scolari, who had speed in abundance but was unlucky behind Bodell Duke; Wargrave King, who wasn't disgraced behind Romeo Active; Romeo On Course who ran well behind Westmead Logan and Greenacre Micky, who ran above himself behind litter-mate Greenacre Josh.
But ironically it's a bitch who is yet to win a race after 11 attempts who might be worth staying with also. Gary Bakewell's Westmead Laura ran on very strongly behind another Nick Savva-bred in Westmead Abbey and might have turned the corner.
Westmead Bolt, a Savva-trained star, challenged at the wrong time in his heat won by Hesley Dingo and is better than that line of form suggests.
As a postscript to Nottingham, I hope you were on maiden final winner Bourne Masons, who continues to impress The Lord.
Romford's fair share of open races continues post-Puppy Cup. Rio Sanzio has racked up a quickfire double and looks a nice sort for Danny 'Droopys Corleone' Riordan, as does Bound To Air, who paralysed his field in a Romford heat and, win or lose in Friday's final, looks a right tool.
