Betfair-sponsored Yarmouth Derby won by Lister again - track record broken in process.
Ninja Jamie landed a ninth Yarmouth Derby for champion trainer Charlie Lister as he raced to a new track record in the £20,000 Betfair-backed decider on Tuesday. Breaking well, the favourite never looked in danger as he led into the first bend and drew clear down the far side to win by eight-and-a-quarter lengths in 27.40sec, nine spots inside the previous best. Ninja Jamie is now top of the betting for the Greyhound Derby 2009, at [16.0].
Lenson Joker made it 11 wins on the spin as he starred on the supporting card at Yarmouth. Tony Collett's dog, who heads for the St Leger next, did not impress everyone as he held off local Newtown Shannon, but will now head to Wimbledon for a trial ahead of the stayers' Classic.
