"Rockchase Amore has been around for ages but is arguably running better than ever after a spate of near misses in Sheffield A2 races recently."
Darrell Williams runs the rule over three dogs which it might pay to follow today...
Jim Reynolds must be wondering why he hadn't raced Podges Dilemma at Hove a little more often as his bitch looks ripe to take the Brighton Belle final this evening (9:24) and stretch her unbeaten record at the Sussex track to five - three of those wins having come in the past three weeks, including the heats and semi-finals of this competition. Likely to still be improving after her seasonal rest, while a front-runner, an early lead is not a necessity, and she can sit in the slipstream of Britania Flyer before leading at halfway. Odds [2.5] or bigger appeals.
Pond Sienna has only just dropped out of top grade at Newcastle and is fancied to reverse form with rival Ballinclare Oak who finished one place ahead of her on Saturday in the 8:31 race. The key is her return to trap one which she seems to reserve her best form for a race where most of her rivals are A2 regulars. Play at [4.0] or bigger.
Rockchase Amore has been around for ages but is arguably running better than ever after a spate of near misses in Sheffield A2 races recently. Her off the pace style will always require an element of luck for her to collect, but she has run well in three successive races now and the win may finally come in the 1:44 contest. I'd be looking for [4.0] or better.
