Richard Yeates' Melodys Comet has taken well to Romford, winning his first two starts over the 575m trip, before going off not unfancied to beat Lenson Joker in the heats of the Champion Stakes last week.
Early trouble put paid to his chances that night, but the Cesarewitch runner-up can bounce back to form back down in class in tonight's 10:24 contest. While a draw closer to the rails would have been preferable, his strength - he has also won over the 750m trip at the track - can pay dividends. Odds of [1.8] or higher would be acceptable.
Distant Journey could hardly have made a better impact since her arrival from Ireland with two wins from two at Swindon, and having been off the track for three months prior to her British debut may still have more to offer. Unpenalised for her latter win I'm siding with her to score again in the A2 race at 5:07 and will be looking for [4.0] plus.
Figgers Marsh hardly ever runs a bad race, but winning has proved beyond him for some time - indeed he has failed to trouble the judge in his last dozen S2 races - and can be taken on again in a similar race this afternoon (4.47 Swindon). A lay at 4.5 or better would be about right.
