Greyhounds Betting: Droopys Kez will be bolt in next time

What a week to be an open-race fan! The Trainers' Championship, the Pall Mall semis and Midland Puppy Derby final make it a huge seven days for punters and the Lord has the clues to a profitable coming few weeks.
There is quality from trap ones to six for Thursday night's Monmore finals and the fact that the field includes the new track record holder for the 480m trip at the Wolverhampton venue suggests this could be a cracker.
Bandicoot Tipoki remains the one to beat, but there are two dogs beaten in the semi-finals and eliminated who are worth keeping tabs on.
Droopys Kez and Centurion Enry are the greyhounds in question. The former, trained by Ted Soppitt and already the Northern Puppy Derby winner, looked to have real chances of the Northern/Midland double when bursting to the bend in the second semi.
However, he failed to handle the bend as he should have and lost momentum. Monmore penalises those who are not prominent more than most tracks and Droopys Kez failed to recover. However, he showed the necessary pace to suggest he will bolt in next time.
Centurion Enry is a tricky one. Trained by Paul Young, he won his heat well and showed great back-straight pace in the same semi-final only to check away any chance of qualifying off the last bend.
If you were being harsh, you'd say he was more interested in tackling Freedom Emma, literally, but we can put it down to inexperience.
The question is where will trainer Young take him next. A maiden 575m at Romford might just be interesting!
Over at Oxford, two of our recent dogs to follow, Cabra Boss and Cabra Fly, did their Pall Mall claims no harm whatsoever with fair efforts to make the semi-finals and are running well enough to have final claims.
But three dogs that should be monitored closely are Soviet Maldini, Lenson Express and Droopys Bocelli.
Soviet Maldini is an ex-Irish dog who will improve the more he gets use to the traps at British track; Lenson Express has been flying of late after a good second in the Arc final and a brilliant off the pace Pall mall heat win, while there are few quicker dogs to the bend than Droopys Bocelli.
Ceroc Location is a sprinter going places and Chris Allsopp's dog did what many fail to do at Coventry on Sunday and break the Brandon track's 17 seconds barrier for the two bends. The fact he also beat home Horseshoe Ping just reinforces the view he is one to keep on the right side of.
Don't forget to get The Lord's thoughts on the TV bonanza that is the Betfair Trainers' Championship here on Friday. The dust will have settled from Tuesday's meeting, but future winners can be found here.
