"In the 20:47, Sempers Billy is a must bet at [3.0] or higher."
On a night when the Sky Sports cameras are at Belle Vue, the best BAGS action takes place across the Pennines at Sheffield, with one of two Open races on the card of particular interest, writes Darrell Williams.
The Sheffield Standard (20:14) looks a coin toss between Senga and Lisseycasey Punch, with the former, although likely to be the shorter price given the selection. He has taken well to the track in recent weeks, winning a similar race over the 500m trip early last month before running respectably against top class Farloe Lee last week. Lisseycasey Punch is a class act, having reached the Gold Cup final at Sunderland in mid-summer, but looks awkwardly drawn, and at [2.2] or bigger Senga is worthy of a wager.
On the graded part of the card, Sempers Billy (20:47) could potentially be thrown in, having run an excellent race on his local debut last weekend and is a must bet at [3.0] or higher. Chasing home Sniper Mini Me on that debut effort, he readily holds two of his rivals here, and would be very hard to beat if reproducing a similar level of form.
At bigger odds Fawn Move catches the eye in the (21:02), a race where most of his rivals struggle to win with any regularity. Recently upgraded after scoring in A3 grade, he ran well in defeat against this company and at potential odds of [5.0] or bigger is worth a second look.
