Ed Nicholson takes a look at the Oxford BAGS card and picks out a couple of greyhounds worth backing.....

Yukon King looks to have been given a great chance to land the best race on Oxford's card this afternoon at 5.44pm.

Drawn in trap six in this A3 contest, the August 2006 whelp will have the outside to himself as those drawn in trap five and four are more likley to race middle to wide than wide, and given that Yukon King can get away smartly he can take advantage of that and make a race winning move from the traps.

He has the quickest time and the quickest breaking time of any of the six dogs and those facts mean he simply has to be the selection here. Back him at anything better than [2.9].

The Oxford meeting starts at 2.21pm and trap one, The Tankster, is drawn perfectly and should take a great deal of beating if getting away to one of his best starts.

The draw means he will nip around in front and his rivals may not catch him. He is drawn inside a middle running dog who will not be quite as fast as our fellow early doors. And the draw continues to work in his favour as the trap four runner is used to running nearer the rail.

All this means there could be early scrummaging while The Tankster can skip clear on the inside.Take anything over [3.5].
