Ed Nicholson takes a look at Nottingham's BAGS card and has unearthed a real diamond...er, should that be ruby, tonight!
"Precocious Ruby has outstanding claims of taking tonight's 7.52pm at Nottingham.
The August 2006 whelp has won more races at the track than any of his five rivals, and this A7 is his cup of tea, as races in A6 just stretch him at this stage of his career."

He is a dog that is not blessed with early pace, but he stays on extremely well in this grade as he showed four runs back when coming from 5th at the first turn to win in 31.64secs. He should get the run in trap six as trap five will lead on the outsdie and could drag him into the race earlier than usual. I expect him to be in fourth down the back straight, and if the five dog is leading off the final turn, our fellow should pick him up and spit him out up the home run. Back him at anything bigger than [3.8].
The final race on the BAGS card is at 9.22pm and features Basic Tom who I have selected on numerous occasions. He is a frustrating dog as he keeps leaving his run too late and constantly finishes in 2nd place - he has now finished runner up in four of his last five races. I amended my files last time to include a squiggle - to denote ungenuine -and I will take him on tonight. My selection is Molls Duchess in trap five - a dog that holds the fastest ectional of the race. Once in front I dont think anything will go past her. Back her at anything better than [4.0].
