"China Robin is drawn in trap two and that will probably suit him even better than the trap three he found himself in last time. Being nearer the fence should enable him to take full control of the race early doors - and the fact he has recently posted two sub 30 seconds run (in A5 and A4) means he will be very hard to catch should be lead around the first two turns in this A5 contest."
Ed Nicholson's NAP won yesterday, and he thinks he has found another good thing tonight at Newcastle.....
China Robin, who led all bar the winning line last time out, can go one better at Newcastle tonight when he contests the 7.43pm at the same track.
This early speed type is drawn in trap two and that will probably suit him even better than the trap three he found himself in last time. Being nearer the fence should enable him to take full control of the race early doors - and the fact he has recently posted two sub 30 seconds run (in A5 and A4) means he will be very hard to catch should be lead around the first two turns in this A5 contest.
The danger may come from the downgraded trap four runner who will be finishing strongly. If he gets loose on the outside I would be mighty worried should he turn handy - but I feel that the dogs on his immediate outside will show more early and force him wide at that first turn. Back China Robin at anything over [3.0].
The best race at Newcastle tonight comes at 8.47pm when six dogs line up for the an A1. Trap two, Canny Counter , has both the fastest sectional and fastest final time in the race, and if he can negotiate a clean run around the inside at the first couple of bends he will be hard to beat. He hasn't been running to his very best form, but he has a chance to get on the bunny early this evening and that should bring victory number 16. Take [4.5] or better on the February 2005 whelp.
