BELLE VUE 19.40

NEWBAWN RANGER (T1) clocked a tasty 28.98 on his comeback from the treatment table and that was far too good for A8 clientele. It's doubtful the upgrade will faze him, especially having the red-box luxury but he cannot afford to make any mistakes at the trap release.

CLONBOY JUNINHO (T2) missed out on the medal front last time which doesn't happen too often these days. He's capable of a pretty quick start and when you take his stamina into account he has to be considered a worthy candidate for top honours.

SURVIVAL (T3) earned an 'unlucky label' last Friday. She fell asleep in the boxes but made a tremendous recovery and was only beaten after a photo finish. Class-wise she is well catered for and, with a half-decent departure, can be in total command by the halfway stage. She is strongly fancied to compensate connections along with her faithful supporters.

O LEARYS BLUE (T4) is currently in fine fettle and once again is expected to give full value for money. She is a strong-running character who takes the knocks and bumps in her stride. If they become entangled up front 'O Learys' won't need a second invitation.

NERVOUS LYNDA (T5) is at her best when allowed to bowl along at the head of affairs. She is a proven force at this level of combat and, being by far the youngest member of this assembly (April 2005 whelp), has the most scope for improvement.

GENTLE PACIFIC (T6) has been off duty for the past four weeks owing to an injury set back. His 29.17 re-qualifying time is par for the course but it may be advisable to employ a watching brief this evening and let him use the outing to banish a few cobwebs.

WITH LEADING CREDENTIALS 'CAGNEY' CAN COAST HOME
BELLE VUE 20.25

DARK JUSTICE (T1) is one of the more senior greyhounds on the Belle Vue racing strength but still has the necessary skills to give A6 calibre a run for their money. More than likely he will give his younger rivals a few lengths start before winding up for a homestretch push.

FRANKI DORI (T2) didn't offer any clues to his ability on his Manchester debut but, on the positive side, can only go in one direction. 'Franki' was an off-the-pace challenger at previous home Kinsley therefore we must assume he is capable of spicing-up the business end of proceedings.

KERSAL LES (T3) comes under the public eye for the first time of asking. He completed his trial sessions with a fastest 29.19 clock but more importantly showed a nice touch of opening speed. It won't be too long before he loses his maiden tag.

RAMOR MELODY (T4) has played three lost three but to be fair she hasn't enjoyed the best of luck. Tonight's ease in status could be just the tonic she needs and a repeat of her 28.93 time under trial conditions would give the market principals an awful lot to think about.

KILKENNY CAGNEY (T5) was a short-priced favourite four days ago but failed to read the script. It might be worth standing by him as he possesses a wide range of talents (even though he doesn't always use them!). With little early pace around he should be in the thick of the action from the word 'go' and his backstretch burst can decide the issue.

TYRUR RUSTY (T6) will be looming large as the contest draws to a conclusion and having an only wide runner advantage he's looking good for a clear passage. If he does get his nose on the bunny at some stage it's doubtful he will surrender.

A FULLY FIT 'COBBLE' WILL TAKE THE BEATING
BELLE VUE 21.55

COBBLE KING (T1) returns to the fray following a four-week vacation. He registered an A1 hat-trick prior to his lay off and, if fully fit, can add another to the tally. Rather partial to a fence location, he has the best assets in the business - early pace and the lead-ability factor.

OUR DOG BOD (T2) can strike from the front to grab a result and has the ammunition to come from behind if necessary. He'll have his work cut out beating Cobble King to the punch, therefore this evening he'll be relying upon his stamina.

BROMPTON BOY (T3) reverts to the standard 470 metres distance following a cracking runner-up performance over the extended 590. He will stalk the leaders round the first couple of bends then quickly slip through the gears approaching halfway.

TWO COOL CATS (T4) finally made the headlines after a series of expensive defeats. Blaze-the-trail tactics are always uppermost in mind so his take-off needs to be spot-on. The initial conflict with Cobble King is expected to be a fierce tussle and it may decide the outcome.

MILL LANE EBONY (T5) can find this four-bend journey a little on the sharp side. He's got a huge lung capacity and comes home stronger than most but the big question is, will it be too late to get in a telling blow?

WHITE COMET (T6) grabbed the honours in A1 last week but it wasn't the hottest of top-flight assemblies you'll stumble across. Much more on his plate here so it will have to be career best stuff if he is to have any kind of say in the matter. On the plus side he is booked for a solo jaunt on the wing.
