Supporters of Lonely Lane will be hoping the Belle Vue runner can put together a sequence after he won for only the second time on Saturday.
The Darren Hampson-trained May 2005 whelp has been expensive to follow but finally landed an A6 contest after a run of six consecutive defeats when fancied, including four as favourite.
Lonely Lane had been knocking on the door recently and was unlucky on a number of occasions, particularly on his penultimate start when third to Nervous June after receiving a bump.
Nervous June won Saturday's opener to frank the form and Lonely Lane duly obliged later in a good clock (28.36) from trap three.
The son of Hondo Black may just have found the winning habit, especially if he has discovered the art of avoiding the early trouble which blighted his earlier starts.
