Double Back one to watch

Punters will be watching out for the next run for June 2005 puppy Double Back after she destroyed A5 opposition at Belle Vue on her debut.

The well-bred youngster by Toms the Best and Double Take posted a sizzling 28.26 clock on Friday evening, some 50 spots faster than anything she achieved under trial conditions.

Racing manager, Will Reid, cannot fail to have been impressed with the seven-length success and will dish out a sever penalty after such a great performance.

But with so much room for improvement, it could pay to monitor her progress as she could turn out to be something very special.

Galipip to be Show-stopper

Belle Vue's Galipip Showgirl (T1) has had plenty of critics over the past few weeks - and rightly so.

She had several opportunities to open her account but a lack of confidence has proved her undoing at the expense of her faithful followers.

However, last Saturday the July 05 bitch, trained by Ron Smith, finally showed her true colours.

She ran riot in a basement grade race, coming home more than eight lengths clear and clocking a personal best 28:75 on the stopwatch.

She faces a double penalty on Friday in the 20:05 Grade A6 470M Flat contest but will turn up in a similar frame of mind and nothing is likely to stop her.

NO STOPPING LARKHILL BIRD

BELLE VUE 19.55

IMOGENS BRIDGE (T1) has been running well on the graded front over four bends at Kinsley. He's got an awful lot on his plate among this calibre of rival though. To have any kind of say on the matter, he will have to really hit the lids running.

GO MARCO POLO (T2) is seeking a treble following a brace of triumphs over Belle Vue's 470 metres standard trip. He is a strong-running individual and the move up to six bends should suit his style of running to a tee. 'Marco' will apply full pressure on the final circuit.

CHARLIES DREAM (T3) will be very keen indeed to cut out the early running. Her strategy will be to quickly put distance between herself and the opposition. The big question is...can she defy the inevitable boarders? She will have to show lots of resilience. Any mix-ups astern would certainly aid her cause.

LARKHILL BIRD (T4) has registered four victories from her last four excursions. She's got a chunk of time in hand on the stopwatch and has the ability to do the business from the front or behind. More than likely she will be trading at very short odds and it will be a huge surprise if she fails to add to her tally.

CARROWKEAL YANK (T5) tends to labour at the start and he will probably be towards the rear of the assembly around the first couple of bends. He does have staying clout however and connections will have to keep their fingers crossed that he can steal the prize.

CAMLIN DIAMOND (T6) is a vastly-experienced campaigner who knows the Belle Vue course like the back of her paw. Speed from the traps is the name of her game and she has a perfect launch-pad to operate from out on the wing.

'ICEMAN' SHOULD PROVE FAR TOO HOT
BELLE VUE 20.40

ICEMAN BRUTUS (T1) has justified favouritism in his last four outings and he is strongly fancied to continue the theme this evening. His opening burst of speed can quickly have the situation under control and a make-all would appear to be on the cards.

BOOZED REBEL (T2) was a short-priced 'jolly' at Coventry last Sunday and she obliged with the minimum of fuss. Her prime goal here is to out-manoeuvre Iceman Brutus during the initial conflict, which will be no mean feat!

ZIGZAG ZIPPER (T3) scored over Belle Vue's 'midi' 590 metres journey during June. Tonight's extra distance shouldn't pose any problems and he warrants maximum respect. A predatory style of attack is expected and he will strain every sinew in his quest for success.

KEANOS MACHINE (T4) is a top-grader over Doncaster's 661 metres trip. He possesses a mighty engine and if the early birds become entangled, this Yvonne Morris charge, won't require a second invitation.

BREAD HEAD (T5) has been in the wars recently and she is overdue a change of fortune. It is imperative she turns up with those trapping boots and throws down the gauntlet the very moment the lids snap open.

TARBROOK TICO (T6) grabbed a share of the minor purse over course and distance in April but his 41.60 time was nothing to write home about. Like the majority in the contest, he will be jockeying for a prominent early position.

'FRISBY' CAN MAKE HIS CLASS COUNT
BELLE VUE 21.10

CALZAGHE FRISBY (T1) on his day is a class act and is capable of running amok if everything goes according to schedule. He is ideally housed on the inside fence and 'Frisby' can grab the reins from an early stage and steadily pull clear.

NOIRS NOREEN (T2) has been crying out for a stiffer test of stamina. It's a tricky assignment but she has bundles of energy and could be viewed as the value alternative. She will be challenging for the pacemaker role and if she sees 'daylight' at any stage, will be reluctant to surrender.

BARNTICK TERI (T3) is a staggered-start specialist, north of the border, at Shawfield. She will have to shave a few spots of time from her 42.42 'Vue' best though to play a major part. She gradually builds up speed along the way and will enjoy any luck on offer.

BARRHILL BLAZE (T4) isn't one to rely upon too heavily but he could run a big race if the mood strikes. He boasts a big lung capacity and if he does manage to succeed it will be a homestretch takeover. Any Betfair backer who is partial to a white-knuckle ride, look no further!

VATICAN SKYE (T5) was seven and a half lengths inferior to Calzaghe Frisby at the Manchester venue last week over 590 metres. Yes, it is a longer trip this evening, but it's difficult to envisage her turning the tables.

MOANING MACHINE (T6) has put in some sterling work on Open Race duty over the past few weeks yet not a great deal to show for his endeavours. He lacks a yard of opening pace therefore has to do things the hard way. Negotiating a trouble-free round he is guaranteed to spice-up the business end of proceedings.

Four wins for star

Yourastar Jill is likely to be a popular choice in her next Belle Vue outing when she bids to complete a four-timer.

The daughter of Droopys Kewell looked to have developed a severe dose of seconditis before putting her golden sequence together, which culminated in a fine hat-trick at the Manchester track on Saturday when she returned winner at 7/2.

The January 2005 whelp was always a strong-running individual but has now added speed to her game which has paid rich dividends.

Wigan trainer Helen Adamson is expected to send out her bitch again this week when she will be looking to extend her sequence by taking on A4 class for the first time in her career.

Despite 27 career starts, Yoursatar Jill had not previously tasted winning glory but will take all the beating having discovered the winning habit.

Toobuck on fire at Manchester

Betfair punters will be following Toobuck Tim closely over the coming weeks after a recent brilliant run of form.

The April-2005 whelp picked up a second win on the bounce on Tuesday, with an impressive A1 success at Belle Vue.

'Toobuck' beat Vieri Ritz by a length-and-a-half, clocking a time of 27:93 and picking up the £109 first prize.

Running from Trap 3, the son of Knockeevan Major showed excellent early pace, always leading and holding on for a trap-to-tape success.

The victory for the AP Heyes-trained dog was all the more impressive, as 'Toobuck' had taken the step up in grade.

Running in the blue jacket, he claimed another length-and-a-half success in an A2 contest back on June 16, beating Noirs Marco.

Previous to the back-to-back victories, Toobuck Tim's form line shows two second placed finishes, a third spot and another victory at A2 level.

Minnie can be in full control by the second last bend

Belle Vue 19:55

Tullymurry Squad (T1) ended the barren spell seven days ago with a narrow-margin success. Blaze-the-trail tactics will be uppermost in mind and the draw against the inside fence is as good as it gets.

Elldan Lady (T2) has registered three victories from her last four outings and in her current mood, has to be considered a serious candidate for top honours. She likes nothing more than bowling along at the head of affairs and putting the onus on those astern.

Her Houdini (T3) is at the veteran stage of her career but she has found another lease of life. She isn't quite as nimble from the starting stalls these days, but takes no prisoners along the back straight. Anyone looking for a value alternative need look no further than 'Houdini'.

Tewmax Minnie (T4) has recently added a touch of opening speed to her repertoire and it's paying handsome dividends. She hit the lids running last Thursday and easily managed to defend the lead she had created, clocking a personal best 28:62. A double looks to be on the cards, especially if she corners in advance.

Bellair Bypass (T5) is starting to show signs of a revival. We have to go back to April 5 to locate her last winning run so she really is overdue. She occasionally departs the boxes smartly, but is much better known for her chase-on antics.

Top Grand (T6) is doing nothing wrong at the moment but he can't quite get his head in front when it matters. He warms to the task on the final swing for home but, once again, may have to settle for a share of the minor purse.

'Sal' is set for a dream run on the inside passage

Belle Vue 21:10

Cinnamon Sal (T1) clocked a career best 41:76 last week, but she had to settle for the runner-up prize. Tonight's arrangement couldn't be better though and she can make full use of being the only genuie railer in this 21:10 contest. She will corner in the shadow of the leaders, then press firmly down on the 'go' button.

Best Valentina (T2) just about gets this lung-bursting 670 metres journey, therefore he cannot afford the slightest mishap leaving the traps. His plan will be to quickly put distance between himself and the opposition. Any mix-ups behind would play directly into his paws.

Lethal Melody (T3) will more than likely be towards the rear of the party during the opening exchanges. Slowly but surely she will claw back the ground, but it's hard to see her catching-up in a clean run contest.

Ridgeworth Star (T4) was the subject of support last Thursday and he obliged in style, coming home more than five lengths clear of her nearest rival. He will be looking for a forward position early in the game and he certainly isn't lacking in the staying department.

Breeze Hill Pat (T5) has slipped back into losing habits. Overall though, he boasts a fair strike rate and is not one to dismiss lightly. He will be applying full pressure on the final circuit and any luck on offer will be gleefully accepted.

Droopys Saha (T6) is rarely far removed from the mainstream action and is very quick to exploit an opportunity. He is booked for a solo jaunt on the wing which virtually ensures a trouble-free route. Once 'Saha' gets his nose in front, he's a difficult character to dislodge.

'Knocklasheen's' all-round skills can prove decisive

Belle Vue 21:25

Boozed Leader (T1) is a full-value-for-money entertainer and another big run can be expected in his favoured scarlet jacket. Lid-pinging will be a top priority and he is always prepared to strain every sinew in his quest for glory.

Rooster Busty (T2) is suffering from that annoying near-miss syndrome at the moment. Her prime goal this evening is to wrestle the rails position from 'Boozed Leader', then make her bid for freedom between bends two and three.

Proven Suzie (T3) is in the best form of her life and is bound to be on a few shopping lists. She emerges from the traps with purpose and is pretty versatile as far as the location is concerned. She has a wonderful knack of finding an extra ounce or two of energy when the pressure is on.

Grindal Shoals (T4) only knows one way...sprint into a commanding advantage and shouting, 'catch me if you can'. All-the-way triumphs are his speciality but he cannot afford to ease off the accelerator at any stage, otherwise he'll become a sitting target.

Adamant Mojo (T5) is another locked in that must-lead-to-win category, making the first-phase battle so important. She is at a time in her career when improvement is inevitable and it wouldn't be a surprise if connections had Open Racing lined up for 'Mojo'.

Knocklasheen Boy (T6) simply oozes class and he has the ability to strike from the front or behind. Time-wise you can set your stopwatch by him and he has an excellent record wearing stripes. He is fancied to edge ahead passing the halfway point then gradually pull clear of the opposition.

Knocklasheen can make his class count

Belle Vue 20:25

Our Dog Bod (T1) has just slipped back into losing habits but one cannot fault either his work-rate or commitment. With one of his better departures, he could poach a few lengths lead on the inside passage and he certainly isn't lacking in the staying department.

Quest For Wonder (T2) occasionally shows a touch of opening speed, but he is much better known for his chase-on antics. If he manages to edge to the front at any stage it will take a huge effort from one of the opposition to deny him top honours.

Coolangatta Duke (T3) has really produced the goods for his connections over the past four weeks. He has collected three victories from his last four races at tasty odds of 10/1, 4/1 and 5/2. He doesn't take long to slip through the gears and is as keen as mustard.

Foxtail Houdini (T4) appears to have an awful lot on his plate among this calibre of rival. He may well be in the thick of the action from the outset but there is quite a shortfall on the stopwatch and it's doubtful he will be around at the business end of proceedings.

Townhead Jo Jo (T5) is happiest of all when allowed to bowl along at the head of affairs but, having a tricky draw to operate from, he will have to work cleverly, to avoid mishap on the run to the opening corner.

Knocklasheen Boy (T6) is quite simply a class act and he appears to be the one they all have to beat. He has plenty of sprinting speed at his disposal and keeps the gallop going for the full duration. Being booked for a solo jaunt on the wing a smooth route is virtually guaranteed.

'Rooster' all set for a trap-to-line triumph

Belle Vue 20:40

Rooster Busty (T1) did all the donkeywork on Open Race duty four days ago, but she ran out of steam in the shadow of the pay stick. She will relish this evening's lesser assignment and is strongly fancied to storm into a race-winning advantage.

Aghaburren Jill (T2) has been stripped of her favoured scarlet jacket which is a severe blow to her chances. It is imperative she out-manoeuvres 'Rooster Busty' on the run-up and takes control of the rails position...no mean feat!

Mega Sophie (T3) has suffered heavy reversals in her last five races and will have to increase the tempo somewhat to have any kind of say on the outcome. To be fair she has been plagued with knocks and bumps and the same may happen here, unless she shows more urgency at the trap release.

Proven Suzie (T4) endured severe bashings last Friday and the form is best ignored. It's prudent to use her A2-A1 double previously as the yard stick and she also has a sub 28-second time against her name. As ever, blaze-the-trail tactics will be uppermost in mind.

Pioneer Doll (T5) is a formidable opponent on her day but her style of running (off-the-pace grafter) will always give 'Betfair layers' a chance. If she is within shouting distance entering the home straight, nothing will stop her.

Double Mission (T6) is a strong-running individual and she might just have the requisite pace to see early 'daylight' on the wing. She is however, facing her stiffest test so far and it will be interesting to see how she copes when the contest begins to 'hot-up'.

'Ace High' will bide his time to then swoop

Belle Vue 22:10

On Probation (T1) bounced back from lameness in winning fashion. He possesses a wide range of skills, always looks dangerous but he does have a frustrating knack of losing concentration and throwing away his chance. A run for your money is assured, but he is not one for the faint-hearted!

Dinnys Honcho (T2) is a popular character who has plenty of A1 gold medals locked away in the trophy cabinet. He can do the business from the front and has the ammunition to come from behind, if necessary. He is usually the subject of support and tonight will be no different.

Grindal Shoals (T3) emerges from the starting blocks at full throttle and will probably amass a useful lead. His legs become weary on the final swing for home, therefore will have to really dig deep. Any mix-ups astern would play directly into his paws.

Ace High Zoom (T4) tasted Open Race glory earlier this week, swooping in the shadow of the post. He has an amazing turn of foot passing the halfway stage and if he swerves any traffic congestion en-route, a double is on the cards.

Basic Instinct (T5) is a regular in the premier league these days and he normally picks up a medal of some description. His trapping technique isn't the greatest, but he travels with menace once in full flow along the back straight.

Lagganmore Brett (T6) will have to shave quite a few spots off time from his 28:35 personal best clock if he is to play a major part. On the positive side, the draw on the outside path is as good as it gets but there is no margin for error at the lid rise.

Heyes eyes Sweepstake success

Trainer Andy Heyes appears to have a strong hand in Belle Vue's A1 Kennel Sweepstakes on Thursday.

Knocklasheen Boy boasts a tremendous strike rate this year and he should qualify for next week's final in the 20.25 heat in front-running fashion.

Contrastingly, Ace High Zoom is a powerful off-the-pace challenger who will have to work a touch harder to take his heat in the 22.10.

Heyes will also have high hopes of success in the A6 Kennel Sweepstakes with back-in-form Ballyfolion Carl.

She scored on her third post-season outing and it is prudent to budget for further improvement.

Her all-round skills can secure success in the 19.55 heat.

BORNA CAN MAKE FULL USE OF AN IDEAL ARRANGEMENT

'BORNA' CAN MAKE FULL USE OF AN IDEAL ARRANGEMENT
BELLE VUE 19.55

BORNA STAR (T1) is gradually showing signs of a revival after spending April and the majority of May on the sidelines. She has a perfectly suitable arrangement this evening to return to winning ways. With her neighbour, 'Come On Ruby', liable to take a middlish course, she has a prime location to operate from and her second-bend kick can prove the decisive factor.

COME ON RUBY (T2) has been running well since returning from seasonal rest. She has stacks of sprinting speed at her disposal but, as ever, requires a slick getaway to make full use of it. If she is to land the prize it will be in trap-to-line fashion.

ROUGH CULTURE (T3) is another who is firmly locked in that must-lead-to-succeed bracket. She throws in the towel if beaten to the punch therefore cannot afford to make the slightest hiccup at the start. The main question for supporters...can she take care of 'Come On Ruby' on the run-up?

EVERILGATE SUZZY (T4) isn't the most predictable character but she is capable of scoring at generous odds when everything goes according to schedule. She will be looking for a forward position during the preliminaries and slips through the gears once in full rhythm along the back straight.

TRACEYS OMEGA (T5) found the tempo rather hot in A4 class last Friday (registered an A7 victory prior) and the same may apply this evening, unless she wins the important battle for early supremacy.

LEMON TURBO (T6) is a determined fellow, refuses to throw in the towel whatever the circumstances, but he has yet to get the better of A4 opposition. If he is going to have any kind of say on the outcome he needs to slip into turbo gear as quickly as possible.

'SMUDGERS' OPENING SPEED THE KEY TO SUCCESS
BELLE VUE 20.25

IMPACT (T1) found the going a little tough in A3 and the Racing Chief takes appropriate action. His trapping technique isn't the greatest but he doesn't take long to engage top speed. He takes the economical route by steering very close to the inside rails.

SMUDGERS PRIDE (T2) has got terrific early speed at his disposal and his plan will be to quickly put 'daylight' between himself and the opposition. He comes up for oxygen as the contest draws to a conclusion therefore will have to show lots of resilience to repel boarders.

PHANTOM KATIE (T3) missed out on the medal front last week which is a rarity. She packs solid speed from pillar-to-post, although she often finds the odd spot of bother en-route. If she does manage to edge ahead it will take a huge effort from one of the others to deny her the prize money.

GRANGEPARK TIGER (T4) has been suffering from that dreaded double...tardy starts and bother on the bends. Tonight's ease in grade is the best possible incentive! It would be very interesting if he nipped out in front and put the pressure on those astern. Anyone looking for a value alternative need look no further.

BECKHAMS BLISS (T5) is beginning to realise what the game is all about. She dipped below the 29-second barrier for the first time last Thursday in her narrow-margin triumph in A5 grade. She is young (October 2005 whelp), upwardly mobile and it shouldn't be too long before she adds an A4 credit to her tally.

RANGERS EURO (T6) offers the late punch in the event. She will be sweeping through on the wide outside from the second last corner. Being the lone wide seed, she will enjoy plenty of elbowroom and any midfield scrimmaging will be severely punished.

'JUDES' CAN CONTINUE HER PROGRESS THROUGH THE GRADES
BELLE VUE 21.55

JUDGE KENNY (T1) compensated his faithful supporters last Friday following a series of expensive reversals. He is a dangerous force when he escapes smartly and has to be considered a serious contender for top honours. The upgrade shouldn't faze him, especially from this ideal launch pad.

HOLBROOK EDDIE (T2) likes to be in the driving seat from the word 'go'. The first-phase battle with 'Judge Kenny', for the right to dictate terms on the inside, is bound to have a bearing on the outcome. Time-wise you can set your stopwatch by 'Eddie'.

OYLEGATE EAMON (T3) has trailed the field on the last two occasions which hardly fills one with confidence. A word of warning! Do not be put off. He got no run whatsoever in either of those races and the form is misleading. He scored at this level of combat previously in front-running fashion.

JUDES BRANDY (T4) is in the best form of her life at the moment (missed the frame just once in her last six excursions). She boasts that lethal combination of opening speed and staying power. If she gets her take-off spot on, 'Judes' could be in total control of the situation by the halfway stage.

CASH IS MAGIC (T5) always looks dangerous but when the chips are down fails to produce the goods. Trapping has never been one of his stronger points but he comes home with a vengeance. If only he had that vital ingredient...killer instinct!

GIN PIT JIG (T6) moves higher in the pecking order following his last-gasp burglary four days ago. His tactics will be no different here but obviously, among these tougher rivals, will find it much more difficult to claw back the ground.

Witness fans screaming with delight

Connections must be delighted with the recent form and progress of Screamingwitness, who is search of an impress hat-trick.

The May 2004 whelp, trained at Belle Vue by Ray Andrews, ended his belt of seconditis on the flat on May 26 in an A4 contest.

Screamingwitness clocked a career-best time of 28:29 when defeating Gin Pit Jig by six lengths and is going from strength-to-strength.

He then showed versatility last Friday, scoring in the top flight over the hurdles when he easily accounted for odds on favourite Hollylake Boy.

In his current mood, A1 looms large for the son of Derrybeg Twister - who defeated Noirs Mentor by six-and-a-quarter lengths last time out.

Open racing in the jumping game also has to be a serious consideration for Screamingwitness connections.

Third time lucky for Charlie

Belle Vue 20:10

Clontrubid Lass (T1) returns to the fray following a two-month spell on the sidelines. She is at the veteran stage of her career (May 2002 whelp) but still has the necessary skills to give A6 rivals a run for their money. She turns up the volume along the far side, but fitness has to be a slight concern.

Horseleap Mick (T2) is hardly setting the track alight at the moment. His latest form figures tell the story (6th, 6th, 4th, 4th & 6th). It has to be said though that he is capable of scoring in a fast time when everything goes according to schedule. He will be looking for a forward position early in the game.

Tabley Charlie (T3) has been valiant in defeat in both excursions to date. It's time to start paying the bills and tonight could be the night! He has a golden opportunity to be on the bunny from the outset and connections will be hoping he can poach a race-winning advantage.

Tewmax Minnie (T4) has gone very close but she has yet to crack the A6 combination although it shouldn't be long before she puts that to rights. She travels with menace approaching the second last corner although there is one small negative, her track craft isn't the greatest which means hold-ups en-route are a possibility.

Kety Star (T5) much to like about her initial appearance and she is sure to come on leaps and bounds for the experience. It's prudent to budget for a hefty time-clip and her maiden success won't be long in coming. More than likely this well bred puppy, by Premier Fantasy, will employ a stalking style of attack.

Bellair Bypass (T6) allows others to do the donkey-work before bringing her big engine into operation. Having the outside passage all to herself, a trouble-free route is virtually assured.

'Smudgers' to defy the upgrade

Belle Vue 20:40

Cefneithen Bear (T1) scored at this level of combat three runs ago. His trapping technique isn't always spot-on, but there is certainly no quibble regarding his overall speed. The location against the inside rails is as good as it gets.

Smudgers Pride (T2) broke his maiden tag last Friday in front-running fashion. He incurs the inevitable penalty but the manner of his success implies there is more in the tank. 'Smudgers' is strongly fancied to quickly have the opposition strung out and he can keep enough in reserve to stave off boarders.

Boggy Creek (T3) scored on his debut venture but he has struggled to get in a telling blow since he was promoted to A4 category. He seems happiest of all when front-shooting, therefore it is imperative he comes out on top during the initial conflict.

Corbally Rogue (T4) returns to competitive action following a well-earned vacation. His 28:80 'blow-out' under trial conditions is par for the course and he warrants maximum respect. He will build up a head of steam on the final swing for home.

Breeze Hill Pat (T5) has enjoyed a fair amount of success this year over both standard and staying distances. At this evening's 470 metres, he will be looming large as the contest draws to a conclusion.

Laburnum Amber (T6) has been off-duty since February 23rd owing to an injury setback. Class-wise he is well catered for but her re-qualifying times were nothing to write home about and it may be advisable to wait for some positive signals.

'Hatshepsut' can dominate from start-to-finish

Belle Vue 21:10

Impact (T1) is as game as they come and will refuse to throw in the towel whatever the circumstances may be. He should seize command on the inside passage and he is not lacking in the staying department.

Salford City (T2) incurs a belated penalty for his A4 victory on May 18th. He is better known for his six-bend excursions these days which obviously means, over this 470 metres trip, his best work will be in the closing quarter of proceedings.

Queen Hatshepsut (T3) wasn't disgraced in the second tier but she still benefits from a drop in status. It could be just the spur she needs to return to winning ways. With one of her slicker departures, she can have the situation under wraps by the halfway stage.

Grangepark Tiger (T4) has a single credit against his name which was accomplished in A6 class. He was pushed up three grades for that success and hasn't really been able to properly impose himself. On this evidence, it's difficult to make a serious case for him.

Judes Brandy (T5) bolted from the boxes last Saturday and she came home more than five lengths clear of her nearest rival, clocking a career best 28:45 in the process. To double up, once again, she will have to really ping those lids and force the issue.

Right Rambler (T6) found only one too good on his Belle Vue bow. He is very fast along the straights, but opting for the scenic route negotiating the corners costs valuable ground. Any midfield mix-ups however, will be severely punished.

Witness has Hollylake in his sights

Hollylake Boy can't put a paw wrong at the moment but faces a determined rival as he bids for a four-timer over hurdles at Belle Vue on Friday.

Andy Heyes' black and white flyer has a great opportunity to maintain his impressive winning run at the Manchester track and is bound to be popular in the ring.

On each of his three wins, the son of Droopys Vieri has been a hot favourite and his blistering opening speed and fluent jumping technique has proved too much for his opponents.

Another victory should see the September 2004-whelp graduate to Open race action and it will surely take a huge effort from one of the other dogs to prevent him romping home again.

However, Screaming Witness got to within a fast diminishing three quarters of a length of Holylake Boy when he completed his treble on May 22 and subsequently destroyed his rivals back on the flat at A4 grade.

Ray Andrews' black dog is clearly running into great form and connections will be hopeful he can turn the tables on the hurdling hot-pot on Friday.

Kipper all set for Belle Vue three-timer

BELLE VUE 20:25

Ceilidh Bloom (T1) scored among Open Race calibre towards the end of May, over 605 metres at Pelaw Grange. She employs a late-hitting style but this inside berth can be worth a length or two and if there are any mix-ups ahead, she won't need a second invitation.

Colarhouse Boy (T2) hasn't been enjoying the best of fortune over the past few weeks and connections have decided to give him a crack over this extended 590 metres journey. He shouldn't have any problems beating 'Ceilidh' to the punch.

Giddy Kipper (T3) is bound to be the subject of support in his attempt to make it three victories on the bounce. He will be in the thick of the action from the word 'go' and has that wonderful ability of being able to pull out a little bit extra when required. His previous two wins were achieved wearing the red vest, but this midfield location will be no deterrent.

Datona Dandy (T4) sprung a 20/1 surprise last weekend at Monmore Green, picking up more than £7000 prize money in the process. Tonight's purse is a mere £160 in comparison, but his commitment and determination will be no less. He will stalk the leaders around the first couple of bends then press firmly down on the accelerator.

Drumcrow Bonny (T5) was valiant in defeat behind the in-form Giddy Kipper six days ago. She needs another precision getaway and a big, big lead if she is to have any chance of turning the tables.

Brompton Boy (T6) is the second hat-trick seeker in the assembly. He is however, facing a much sterner assignment here and a minor award is probably his best hope. Securing first run will be a top priority and he will refuse to throw in the towel, whatever the circumstances may be.

'Silkey' can produce another smooth success

BELLE VUE 20:55

Silkey Sensation (T1) couldn't have asked for a better arrangement. He has the inside passage all to himself, giving him ample opportunity to make full use of his early-paced asset. An action replay of his all-the-way success over course and distance last week is surely on the cards.

Driving Up Hasty (T2) opened his account at the third attempt in front-running fashion. With plenty of scope for improvement he could be considered a value option - 'Betfair layers' beware! He will be looking for a forward position early in the game.

Knocklasheen Boy (T3) returns to base following his nasty tumble at Oxford last week. He has plenty of A1 winning prize money stashed away and on his day is capable of dipping the 28-second barrier. He emerges with purpose and keeps the momentum going for the entirety of the event.

Spur Hill Kewell (T4) recently cracked the A2 combination at Monmore Green. Like the majority of the opposition, he will be very keen indeed to force the issue. Just the slightest mishap at the trap release and his chance will evaporate.

Fantasy Tiger (T5) has a useful record at Belle Vue, including a sizzling 27:87 triumph last November. On the negative side, he spent April and May in the treatment room, therefore his match fitness has to be a concern. He doesn't take long to slip into turbo gear and the market may be a guide to his prospects.

Zigzag Dipper (T6) appears a banker to bring up the rear during the opening stages of the contest. There is a danger he could become too far detached from the main group though, which would mean his big engine would be out of commission.

'Bird's' flying finish can steal the purse

BELLE VUE 21:25

Halcrow Prince (T1) possesses an excellent strike-rate and it wouldn't be a surprise if he added yet another credit to his tally. He has electric start-off speed, and with a touch of stamina at his disposal, could dominate the situation from pillar-to-post.

Mary Love (T2) was a short-priced favourite last Friday but traffic problems en-route proved expensive. She will have to stay as close as possible to 'Halcrow Prince' during the opening stages, then apply full pressure on the final circuit.

Larkhill Bird (T3) is the most senior member of the assembly but the manner of her recent triumph at Shawfield implies there's still plenty of mileage left in the engine. She isn't always foot-perfect at the lid-rise these days, but there is no quarrel regarding her overall speed. She gets the nod to collar 'Halcrow Prince' on the run-in.

Ace High Zoom (T4) has being doing the business on the graded front over four bends at Belle Vue, but surprisingly a six-bend gold medal eludes him. He could put that to rights if he comes out on top during the initial conflict.

Barrhill Blaze (T5) ended the barren spell last Friday over this stamina-sapping 670 metres distance (finished 1¾ lengths ahead of Mary Love). He has never really mastered the art of trapping, but makes up for that deficiency with grandstand climaxes.

Dum Dumer (T6) scored in S1 grade at Hall Green on April 10th but he's failed to make a serious contribution in subsequent Open Races. He will have to be on his toes from the outset and one thing in his favour, he does have an only-wide-runner advantage.
