The Hawk selects another pair of hounds to follow on the BAGS scene.
Hotfoot Rooney has only had four runs at Perry Barr but the grader obviously views this dog as one with potential. Installed into A3 for his debut he hasn't been dropped since and ran a race full of promise last time out at the Birmingham track having been nibbled at in the market.
Drawn trap four, the August 2005 dog finished second having shown his first real bit of early at the track. He then ran on in the latter stages of the race having lost his position down the back straight. If he can maintain his early pace next time out he should be nearer to the front end when he runs on and that can see him record his first victory at the track.
It should be noted that he had previously been plying his trade at Nottingham where he had finished his time running in the top grade there - and he has won Open races as well. He is better than a normal A3 Perry Barr dog and he can win soon.

Terrorbasha Spot has had 22 races at Yarmouth and won just the four times, but he showed on Monday night that his turn is not far away despite finishing last in an A4 when market leader.
He started his career at the East Anglia track back in August when winning an A7 and has gone through the grades in his own time. He now contests A4s and given a clear he is capable of returning times in the 29.10's. He met all sorts of trouble at the first bend last time but that may well mean he is a decent price for his next run or two.
As he moves off at the opening two bends he may well be best served from a trap three or four with a slow starting dog outside and a fast starting dog inside. I am very interested in watching this one run next time as he could well be a bigger price than he perhaps should be because of a finishing last last time out.

Update: Just Poppy Rose ran from the kennel since the last column, and she finished second.
