More Applaud (T5), the winner of ten races from 43 starts at the level, looks set to give a good account in Romford's opening A8 contest run over 400 metres and due underway at 19:30.
Bubbly Regent (T1), who displayed phenomenal pace from the machine on his final trial, looks set to be in the firing line early doors. Martyn Wiley's son of Droopys Scholes, who should win his share of races in due course, is best watched in the pre-race skirmishes for positive signs on his debut.
Mayview Josie (T2), who showed definite signs of ability when finishing runner-up on her opening start, failed to build on that performance when totally missing the break on her second career outing. The jury is out on Paul Young's pup, who needs to go quicker on the calculated clock.
Zedex Sixmic (T3), who is normally seen to best effect when allowed to dominate proceedings, was having his first outing for the best part of four months when meeting trouble in-running the other day. Peter Payne's veteran, who is expected to come in for a good deal of support, looks exposed, and may prove to be a fruitful strike for the layers.
Remember Jenny (T4), the second of two debutants in the line-up, has failed to pull up any trees in his four trials. With Alison Ingram's pup having been slow to leave the gates to date, backers are probably best advised to look elsewhere for the winner.
More Applaud (T5), who can usually be relied upon to run an honest race in this grade, may well have the answers. Although many customers may argue that Maggie Lucas' son of Applaud is not the force of old, with this not being the greatest race in the world, the November '02 veteran, who has been highly tried recently, may prove up to the task.
Catlins Star (T6), who boasts a decent draw as the sole wide seed, looks a bit of a character. The winner of only five races from 49 lifetime outings, Dave Mullins' bitch, who is currently going through a 12-race barren spell, looks a lay made in heaven.
'Chakalak' looks well-drawn in A2
Chakalak Dazzler (T1), looks drawn for a prominent role wearing the red jacket in the A2 contest run over 400 metres and due underway at 21:57.
Dave Mullins' tough bitch, who boasts a 33 per cent winning strike-rate at the grade, confirmed herself a force to be reckoned with in this company when making virtually all the running in a similar event last month in a decent time. Subsequently highly tried on each of her last three starts, the drop in class is expected to suit the progressive daughter of Droopys Agassi.
Borna Toot (T2), who has been performing with credit on the clock in recent weeks, cannot be discarded. However, Jim Reynolds' slow starter will need to put a seven-race losing spell firmly behind him.
Kerwex Supreme (T3), who boasts arguably the strongest early pace in the line-up when in the mood, does not look the most reliable of individuals. With Martyn Wiley's golden oldie currently on an 11-race losing streak, layers may well be licking their lips at the prospect of opposing the ageing son of Roanokee.
Now Im Sexy (T4) has to be regarded as a serious challenger. Although Dave Mullins' veteran only boasts three wins at this level from 20 attempts, the daughter of Droopys Kewell, who posted a sizzling 24.49 when landing a race of this nature in November, would be, dare we say it, a certainty with a reproduction of that superhuman effort.
Call It On (T5), the only debutant in the line-up, is evidently held in some regard by connections judged on their decision to race at this level. With Maxine Locke's pup having looked decidedly sluggish from the lids in his trials, the January '05 pup is probably best watched for positive moves in the pre-race market.
Shelbourne Petal (T6), the winner of an Open over the course and distance earlier this month, can enter the mix. Jim Reynolds' bitch, who looks capable of leading up to the corner out wide, should attract plenty of customers.
Blonde Jewel a little gem in S2
Blonde Jewel (T4) looks the class act in the concluding S2 contest run over 575 metres and due underway at 22:30.
Swiss Duchess (T1), who displayed improved form when picking up a similar event two outings back, should be fighting for early supremacy. With Paul Young's nicely drawn bitch taking a drop in class after finding Rio Devo too classy last time, the July '04 whelp should be in the mix.
Never Say Lucky (T2), formerly an Open racer when based at Hove, has been running with distinction in top grade events. Jim Reynolds' sluggish starter, who is unbeaten at this level, looks a threat with a clear run on the leaders.
Wilcox Star (T3), who posted a phenomenal 36.62 at this level in November, would go close with a reproduction of that performance. However, with Peter Payne's charge having gone off the boil since then, a lay looks the call.
Blonde Jewel (T4), formerly a fairly useful grader at Coventry, should take the beating. Maxine Locke's daughter of Top Honcho, who was totally unfancied when winning two of her last five outings, is expected to attract the baulk of support on this occasion.
Soca Samba (T5), who has been knocking at the door recently, will need to have his trapping boots firmly tied up. Alison Ingram's consistent May '04 whelp, who has something to find on the clock, may struggle in this company.
Sign On Buster (T6), who has a tendency to move out wide, can ill-afford to lose ground at the turns. Martyn Wiley's likeable individual, who has tasted defeat in his last four races against stronger opposition, is expected to fare better at this less exalted level.
