Authorized, the brilliant winner of the Vodafone Derby, is likely to take in the Coral Eclipse next after his wonder show at Epsom on Saturday.
Winning trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam, who had previously saddled Dr Devious to win the
Classic fifteen years ago, has already signalled his intent for the son of Montjeu to tackle his elders at Sandown in July.
In what promises to be a mouth watering contest, Authorized has already been installed
as favourite on the Betfair market at 2.04, although this is bound to shorten even further
with traders of the opinion that the three-year-old could be terrific value even at that short price.
Jockey Frankie Dettori, who celebrated his first Derby success in 15 attempts, will be
hoping to land the ride again after Godolphin released him from his commitments to take
the ride at Epsom Downs.
Dettori said: "I can't state enough how great Sheikh Mohammed has been to me.
"I've worked for him for 13 years and he is the guy who pays the bills. If it wasn't for him I would have been in the position to win and if I win the Derby again one day I hope it will be for him.
"One day when I retire I can safely say I have conquered my sport. I have achieved everything I want to achieve. It's nice to say I've done it."
Elsewhere on the Coral Eclipse market, Brian Meehan's Red Rocks trades as second favourite at 5.2, with Ballydoyle's Dylan Thomas available to back at 7.
Frankie Dettori is also third favourite on the Betfair market for the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year award, trading at 14.00 behind Andrew Murray and Lewis Hamilton.
