Improving Englishman likes playing in China so grab a slice of the three-figure price...

If there is to be a big-priced winner in China, then the man to follow could be Steve Webster, currently trading at 120. Long-hitter Webster looks perfectly suited to the Sheshan course, widely regarded as a place to be using the biggest stick in the bag where low scoring on the par-5s is imperative.

Despite long carrying a reputation as a fine talent, Webster took an agonisingly long time to start fully realising that potential on the European Tour. He suffered numerous near-misses before finally breaking a nine-year losing streak for a first tournament victory in the 2005 Italian Open.

Injury and more inconsistency has since affected progress, but in recent weeks 'Webby' has found the form of his life and could now be ready to take his game to a new level. A trio of consecutive top-10s in July and August was followed by a strong performance in contention amongst a high-class field at the Dunhill Links. A fortnight later, Webster produced the best form of his career to date by storming to a comfortable win in the Portugal Masters.

Any previous temperament concerns looked a thing of the past in Portugal, where he dominated the final day with a nerveless front-running performance. The course demands that week in Portugal were similar to Sheshan in so far as length off the tee and low scoring were the order of the day. Webster did pretty well on his first visit to Sheshan two years ago when in nowhere this level of form, finishing a respectable 15th. In fact he seems to generally like playing in China, never finishing below 19th in three events there.
