Can Brandt Snedeker win for the first time this season? Wil brother Haymes pull off a shock win?
"This is Brandt Snedeker's first appearance in this tournament but his recent form is excellent, he's finished in the top 35 in each of his last six tournaments and two weeks ago he won the ADT Skills challenge. This event sees Brandt's brother Haymes Snedeker (detailed later in the column) join him in the field, it's sure to be a special week in that household."
Dan Geraghty is going for talented players without a win this season to break their duck in the last PGA Tour event of the year
Right, after the washout two weeks ago and no home event last week, most of these PGA Tour players will be raring to go. Add to that, that this is the last event of the season and the pressure starts to mount, it's last chance saloon and nerves will be frayed.
After a rib injury halted his progress earlier in the season, Brandt Snedeker has slowly been rebuilding his reputation as one of the brightest young prospects on tour. This is Brandt's first appearance in this tournament but his recent form is excellent, he's finished in the top 35 in each of his last six tournaments and two weeks ago he won the ADT Skills challenge. This event sees Brandt's brother Haymes Snedeker (detailed later in the column) join him in the field, it's sure to be a special week in that household.
Steve Marino has had a great year, the only thing lacking is a win and no doubt he'll be bitterly disappointed if he doesn't have that debut victory of 2009 come Sunday. Marino has had 13 top 25s this year and has put himself in a winning position on numerous occasions (including at the British Open). As well as a stellar year, Marino also has form in the book at this tournament, he's competed here twice, following up a 20th place finish on his first attempt here with third place last year. Everything points to a good week.
It would be a shame if David Toms ended this season without a win to his name. Toms has impressed many this year and his hit the top ten on no fewer than seven occasions. He's visited this tournament eight times during his career, each without success, however he's finished sixth on his last two visits and if Toms is thereabouts come Sunday, I won't be backing against him.
Finally, I couldn't bring myself to tip [1000.0] Haymes Snedeker in this company but his story's worth a read...
Selections: Brandt Snedeker ([36.0]), Steve Marino ([36.0]), David Toms ([28.0])
