Champion jockey Ryan Moore looks set to make his long-awaited return to the saddle at Brighton on Friday as long as he is passed fit by senior HRA medical adviser Dr Michael Turner.
Moore suffered a lateral fracture to his right arm in a fall from Vlasta Wiener at Lingfield in March and it has taken longer than initially anticipated for him to regain full fitness, but his agent, Tony Hind, still believes that the 2006 champion can regain his title.
Hind told the Racing Post: "I will be breaking him in slowly and he will be riding two horses a day until Ryan tells me he is ready to start riding more and we can try for the championship again.
"It will be an uphill struggle, but I have told my family to keep away from me until the end of the turf season."
Jamie Spencer heads Betfair's market for champion jockey, currently trading at 2.16, with his main challenger Seb Sanders (matched at a high of 23) now offered at 2.32.
Neil Callan is a 20 chance and Ryan Moore is currently fourth favourite at 30.
