Y E Yang was backed at [1000.0] when winning the US PGA Championship
"Woods’ Sunday evening demise will have hurt his backers pretty bad. The world no.1 has never lost a major championship when holding a lead going into the final day, and was backed at a low of [1.16] to win the US PGA."
Korean golfer matched at [1000.0] on his way to startling US PGA victory.
Korean underdog Y E Yang was backed at [1000.0] on Betfair as he pulled off one of the great shocks in golfing history at the US PGA Championship last night.
Playing in the final group with Tiger Woods, the world no. 110 overtook and then held off the game's dominant player to deny the American a 15th major victory.
Woods went into the tournament as a massive favourite - trading below the [3.0] mark before a shot was taken - and only got shorter until well into the final round when it finally became apparent that Yang was going to pull off a famous upset.

Yang joins a list of surprise winners of this year's majors. Angel Cabrera was matched at [170.0] on his way to winning the Masters, Lucas Glover's US Open victory rewarded his backers at [410.0] while Stewart Cink touched [320.0] when landing last month's Open Championship at Turnberry.
