Sunday's runner-up is another potential world number one. Fowler will surely win an Open Championship one day on the evidence of his two tries to date, and a lot more too. He's already one of the very best iron players around, which bodes well for Atlanta Athletic Club. The only snag is that he's yet to win as a professional, although it has looked imminent over the past month. He handled the pressure fairly well when fifth at Royal St George's, apart from failing to hole any birdie putts on Sunday. It will come.
