It's taken Kim a painfully long time to emerge from the doldrums after sustaining a thumb injury last year, but there have been signs of life on his last two completed starts. First, he was fifth at the Open and followed up by taking the lead into the final day of the Greenbrier Classic. However an abysmal round, 74 after Saturday's 62, re-affirmed what a streaky player and risky betting option he has become. Kim has never bettered 50th place in four cracks at this major.
