Woods the overwhelming favourite after second victory of comeback.
Tiger Woods stands as the red-hot [3.0] favourite for the US Open on Betfair following his come-from-behind Memorial Tournament victory on Sunday.
The three-time US Open champion had been drifting in the market following his stuttering comeback from injury and has traded at a high of [6.4] to win the major.
But he's back in the backers' good books now after his stunning final round 65 which included seven birdies, an eagle and two bogeys as he found all 14 fairways in an ominous display of golf.
Next in the betting is Phil Mickelson at [16.0] who traded traded at a high of [80.0] following the announcement of his wife's battle with cancer and the subsequent curtailment of his playing schedule this year. However, he has announced he will play at Bethpage Black on June 18 and has assumed his customary position of second favourite behind Woods.
Another player fancied to go well is Jim Furyk, who was denied by Woods on Sunday and is known as a US Open course specialist. Furyk trades at [26.0], alongside Geoff Ogilvy.
England's Paul Casey has been in outrageous form lately and can be backed at [34.0] - the same price as Padraig Harrington.
A couple of notches back from that duo is Rory McIlroy at [38.0] with Sergio Garcia the only other player trading under [50.0] at [44.0].
