Is Lee Westwood timing it right?
Odds: [15.0]
Last five US Opens: 16/23/3/36/33
Westwood's decision to avoid some of the biggest PGA Tour prizes may have cost him the world number one spot, but it could work to his advantage now, as recent evidence suggests the Worksop Wonder is timing his run to perfection. He looked in superb form both when losing a play-off last time at Wentworth and previously at the World Matchplay. The lack of a major title is the last remaining gap on Westwood's CV, and he has said before that the US Open is his best chance. The extra emphasis on long game accuracy in this major plays to his strengths, and Lee should relish the return to Congressional, where he made the top-20 on his debut way back in 1997.
