Last hole birdie sees an 18-hole play-off today - Woods trades as the [1.3] favourite
Rocco Mediate is a keen poker player, taking part in the 2005 World Series in Las Vegas, and he was sensationally denied on the river as Tiger Woods holed a 15-foot birdie putt on the 18th to force a play-off in the US Open today.
Mediate has been backed as high as [910.0] for the US Open on Betfair, with £1,999 matched on him at odds of [500.0] and greater on the exchange.
He traded as short as [1.2] on Betfair to win his first major in the early hours this morning, only for Woods to hole that sensational putt. Tiger had drifted to [8.5] during the final round, as he struggled throughout with his injured left knee.
Lee Westwood also had a birdie putt on the last to make it a three-way play-off, but his effort fell short.
Woods is now [1.33] on Betfair to win today's 18-hole play-off, with Mediate a [4.0] chance.
Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "Given that 90 holes in five days will surely test Tiger's injury to the limit, it could well be that the [4.0] about Mediate will attract support today.
"But the majority of our customers clearly feel Tiger will kick on from here - even on one good leg."
