Too early for Spaniard to declare interest in captaincy as he still aims to be on the tee at Celtic Manor.
Jose Maria Olazabal may rule himself out of the running to captain the European team at the 2010 Ryder Cup as he aims to make the side as a player.
Olazabal, who has been unable to play this summer because of injury, can be backed at [2.0]. He has played in the contest eight times and was Nick Faldo's vice-captain at Valhalla.
He said: "If I get healthy, I might hopefully be a playing partner at the next Ryder Cup. I'm feeling better and hoping I might play one or two events before the end of the year."
The current favourite to succeed Faldo is Ian Woosnam who, despite previously ruling himself out after leading Europe to victory in 2006, is now said to be having second thoughts and relishing the possibility of captaining the side in his home nation of Wales. He is the current favourite and can be backed at [1.37].
Other candidates include Paul McGinley [1.4] and Sandy Lyle [4.0].
