Dan Geraghty makes his three weekly golf bets - this time from the Sawgrass odds.

Ian Poulter fared best of last weeks selections, briefly threatening to post the winning score with a strong finish that saw him tie for fifth. In keeping with his season, Anthony Kim had an up and down week, numerous birdies, bogeys and double bogeys saw him throw away a good position going into the third round. Adam Scott had a woeful week and has a lot to prove before he's a betting proposition once again.

In 2006, on his first visit to the Players Championship Camilo Villegas finished an excellent third. He's flattered to deceive on two visits since, but I think TPC Sawgrass suits his game perfectly. The US tour stats make him number one for greens in regulation and that is going to be hugely important hitting in to greens as small as he will find here. Villegas is very meticulous about the game of golf and inputs as much information as possible for each shot, that's opposed to someone like Anthony Kim who is more of a 'feel' player. Pinpoint accuracy will be at a premium here. He's been in great form without winning and is a confident selection for a good week here.

Phil Mickelson's game looks in great shape
. Since the Masters he's had a few weeks off but he sharpened up with a good fifth place finish at last week's Quail Hollow Championship, finishing strongly with a final day 67. He's one of the past champions in the field and despite finishing a shot behind Tiger Woods last week he looks to have less issues with his game at present.

Ian Poulter
has been selected in this column for the past two weeks and after a tied 13th finish and then last week a tied fifth finish I feel he deserves one more chance. He's finished in the top 30 here in each of the last four years, his game is clearly in great shape. With a second place finish at the Open last year and an excellent performance at the Ryder Cup, Poulter has shown he's a man for the big occasion and winning the Players' Championship is the next best thing to winning the major he craves.

Selections: Camilo Villegas ([65.0]), Phil Mickelson ([12.5]), Ian Poulter ([90.0])
