Dan Geraghty has taken three Europeans to challenge at PGA National this week.

Rory McIlroy's quarter-final match with Geoff Ogilvy at last week's Accenture Matchplay would certainly have been a worthy final. The Ulsterman showed no signs of nerves throughout the duration of the tournament, dismissing Louis Oosthuizen, Hunter Mahan and Tim Clark with consummate ease.

Ogilvy's world class professionalism put an end to McIlroy's challenge, but he went down fighting. Rory is currently at the top of his game, seems well suited to playing in the US and I can see nothing less than another good performance this week. With no Ogilvy at the Honda Classic, back McIlroy to show his class once again.

Before nearly spoiling Rory McIlroy's debut win at the Dubai Desert Classic, Justin Rose had been desperately struggling for form. After finishing in the top-15 at all four majors in 2007 Rose has been largely disappointing.

The fact that Rose is yet to win on the PGA Tour would surprise many. However, despite having never won in the US, he has plenty of good form there. I think the PGA National's tough course suits his game, he finished tied 15th at the Honda Classic last year.

Rose played well and was unlucky when going down narrowly to Boo Weekley in the first round of last weeks Accenture matchplay. His partner has just given birth to the couple's first child and according to some golfing folklore the birth of a child often inspires better play! Back him to emulate countryman Luke Donald who won this tournament in 2006.

A woeful first round 77 all but ended Fredrik Jacobson's chances at last week's Mayakoba Open. In round two he hit back with a 67, one of the day's best, and ended up only narrowly missing the cut.

Like Rose, Jacobson is yet to win on the PGA tour but has two second place finishes to his name and finished tied fourth at 2004's Honda Classic. A multiple winner on the European tour, Jacobson has a better chance here than his price suggests.

So, this week it's three Europeans against the field.

Selections: Rory McIlroy ([18.5]), Justin Rose ([44.0]), Fredrik Jacobson ([250.0]).
