Michael Hill New Zealand Open betting and odds

Michael Campbell will be among the betting to go one better than last year's second place when the Michael Hill New Zealand Open gets underway in his homeland on November 29 - December 2.

Taking place at the Hills Golf Club, near Queenstown, the tournament is the second event on the 2008 European Tour with players looking to get off to a flying start on the Order of Merit standings.

Customers looking for a bet will no doubt keep an eye on the odds of Campbell, who won the event in 2000, but lost out in 2006 when Australian Nathan Green fired a stunning closing round of 65 to win by two shots.

With a prize fund of NZ $1,500,000 there should be plenty of opportunities for a bet, while punters looking at betting on a home nation winner need look no further than Nick Dougherty's odds as he finished third last year.

Alternatively it is worth keeping an eye on the odds of Australian entrants when considering a bet given that they made up eight of last year's top 10, while three of the last five winners were from across the Tasman.

When betting, punters should also be aware that Sweden's Nicklas Fasth is the only European to have won in New Zealand in the last 18 tournaments with Australians and New Zealanders dominating proceedings which will no doubt be reflected in the odds.
