There are plenty of top-quality professionals available at huge odds. Paul Krishnamurty identifies a handful to watch.

Y E Yang [120.0] deserves a mention as a former major champion and multiple worldwide winner. Previous efforts on British links layouts offer little encouragement though.

Aaron Baddeley [160.0] has missed the cut on all five previous Open appearances, which is surprising given his prowess in windy conditions, and on links-style Australian layouts. He's enjoying an excellent year, winning at sometimes major venue Riviera, and has 'bottle' in spades.

Stewart Cink [180.0] hasn't won anywhere since Turnberry, 2009, but has been pretty consistent this season, generally just off the pace. Few Americans could boast an equivalent record either in the Open or on stateside linksy layouts, so it would be no surprise to see him go well.

Veteran David Toms [160.0] has found another lease of life this season, winning at Colonial and losing a play-off at Sawgrass. He's struggled badly, however, on seven Open appearances since finishing fourth on his debut back in 2000.

Apart from third place a decade ago, Miguel-Angel Jimenez [280.0] has never challenged seriously for an Open. Nevertheless, the popular Spaniard probably deserves a major for his efforts elsewhere over the years, and is bound to attract a few pennies at silly odds.

Finally, it would be harsh not to mention Ben Curtis [300.0], champion when the Open was last held at Sandwich. That remains arguably the biggest golfing upset of all-time, although in fairness to Ben, later wins showed it wasn't a total fluke. In fact judging by a couple of further top-eights at Carnoustie and Birkdale, Curtis clearly enjoys the test of an Open Championship
