Can Ernie Els 'do a Watson'?!
Odds: [130.0]
Last five Opens: mc/8/7/4/3
Something must be seriously wrong with Ernie Els when layers are prepared to offer triple-figure prices for this major. Ernie's Open stats over the past two decades are unrivalled, boasting 12 top-tens, including six top-threes and victory at Muirfield in 2002. It would be impossible to make a case for him on 2011 form, but he won a tournament as recently as last December, which was probably the last time he putted well. Nevertheless, great Open players of yesteryear often turn back the clock in this major. If Tom Watson and Greg Norman could challenge in their mid-50s, 41 year-old Els remains perfectly capable of winning a second Claret Jug.
