PGA Tour Betting: Three against the field at the Wyndham Championship
Three Against The Field
/ Dan Geraghty / 19 August 2009 / Leave a comment

Another Korean success this week?
Last week Dustin Johnson fared best of the three selections, posting a top 10 finish in the last major of the season. Angel Cabrera made the cut but was never competitive and Sergio Garcia was very disappointing, he double bogeyed the last to miss the cut by one shot. Will this week's selections provide more profit for Daniel Geraghty?
"Despite his missed cut last week, at these prices (23.0) I'm a backer of Sergio Garcia in this field. Garcia finished in the top 15 on his only previous appearance here and is well capable of bouncing back strongly."
Compared to some other PGA tour events the field is understandably weak the week after a major but a number of stars will line up on Thursday and among them will be Sergio Garcia who is taking part in an attempt to get enough points to get him into the FedEx cup field. Despite his missed cut last week, at these prices (23.0) I'm a backer of Sergio Garcia in this field and he's the week's first selection. Garcia finished in the top 15 on his only previous appearance here and is well capable of bouncing back strongly.
Tim Clark will be a popular choice this week. He's had an eventful and consistant season that's included a well publicised matchplay victory over Tiger Woods and 12 top 30 finishes in the 17 events he's played. This year Clark has been closer than ever to breaking his PGA Tour duck and nothing would please him more than breaking that duck this week in North Carolina - the state where he attended University and played his College golf.
My third selection this week is Danny Lee. This is the venue where Lee made his PGA Tour debut last year and he put in a fantastic performance to finish tied 20th, shooting four rounds in the 60s. Since then Lee has become the youngest ever winner on the European Tour and finished in the top 10 on the PGA Tour for the first time this May at the AT&T National. Lee is a naturalized New Zealander but was born in South Korea so may well recieve a boost from South Korean Y E Yang's fantastic PGA Championship win.
Selections : Sergio Garcia [23.0], Tim Clark [21.0], Danny Lee [140.00]
