Justin Timberlake pretends to be a golfer
"Tim Clark has played this event once (2002) and missed the cut with an incredibly disappointing score of even par (the winning score that week was 29 under!). Everyone deserves a second chance and this week Clark has his, bring on the birdies."
It's pro-am time in the US with all-singing, all-dancing popster Justin Timberlake hosting his very own tournament. Dan Geraghty picks his top-three from the JT Shriners Hospitals Open odds...
This week a good friend of mine alerted me to how well Tim Clark is playing at the moment and that friend relieved me of a fiver in the process. Clark was a shining star in a defeated International team at last weeks Presidents Cup and I'm hoping he can carry that form over to this week and finally break his PGA Tour duck. Once again Clark has had a fine season without winning and has troubled the top 25 no fewer than 10 times.

John Mallinger's form offers hope to Clark backers. Mallinger has played in this tournament twice and last year he followed a missed cut with a 22 under par third place. Like Clark, Mallinger also went very close to winning his first PGA Tour event this year, he was narrowly bettered in a play-off by Bo Van Pelt at the US Bank Championship in July. He's had a month without playing but Mallinger's four top tens this year and his good course form should give him the confidence to challenge for that breakthrough victory.
Ryan Moore was one of the best amateurs the game has seen and now that he has finally put his head in front on the PGA Tour (Wyndham Championship, August) he can go on to better things. These 'birdie fests' pose no problems to Moore and he can improve last years 17 under par 24th place finish.
Selections: Tim Clark ([27.0]), John Mallinger ([100.0]), Ryan Moore ([80.0])
