Dan Geraghty turns his attention to one of the oldest tournaments on the PGA Tour.

Last week was the second bad week in a row for this column. Kevin's Na and Stadler missed the cut by some distance. Vijay Singh restored a small amount of pride, he played well all week and arguably deserved better than his 16th place finish.

* * *

After selecting him in my three last week, I obviously followed Vijay Singh's progress at the Byron Nelson with great interest. He played immaculately from the start in the toughest conditions of the first day and was quickly backed into favouritism. However, that first day scorecard was ruined by a horrible three putt from no more than four feet which saw him double bogey the par three 13th. Singh recovered well and encouragingly went on to finish in the top 20 for the second consecutive week. He's not won here before but has finished in the top 15 three of the five times he's played this event. I definitely think last week was another step forward for Singh and in another weak field I think he's crying out to be backed again.

David Toms has finished fourth, third and second in this tournament. This year has seen Toms come close to rediscovering the form that has taken him to twelve PGA tour titles. He hasn't won since 2006 and had a torrid time last year but he's been working hard and this season has already finished in the top ten 5 times.

I'm usually not one to shut the stable door after the horse has bolted but my third selection is Rory Sabbatini. Winning two events in a row on the PGA tour is normally a feat that only Tiger Woods dare contemplate but Sabbatini is a man that holds his form remarkably well. Last year he followed a second place with a third and in April/May 2008, finished second, third and third again. Last week Sabbatini won in a canter and when you factor in that he won this event on this course in 2007, you have yourself a bet.

Selections: Vijay Singh ([44.0]), David Toms ([36.0]), Rory Sabbatini ([30.0])
