PGA Tour Betting: Three against the field at the Barclays Open
Three Against The Field

Back for more?
In an extraordinary show of faith, Daniel Geraghty is backing a certain Spaniard for the second consecutive week. Elsewhere at the Liberty National in New York, our man has found a player who has managed to stay fresh in spite of a punishing season and a cold putter warming up at a huge price...
"On Sunday night I promised myself I wouldn't back Sergio Garcia for a long while. Yes, you've guessed it, unbelievably I have decided to go in again this week... Despite the issues between his ears he's worth a couple of pounds at [40.0]."
I'm still struggling to figure out how last weeks main selection Sergio Garcia managed to throw away victory at the Wyndham Championship. He had everything under control until a three putt at the start of his back nine and everything went wrong from there. Danny Lee made the cut but was disappointing and Tim Clark withdrew with a neck injury during his first round.
This week there are so many negatives about the leading contenders that it's hard to be too confident. Stakes are best kept to a minimum. I can't back Tiger after his major disappointment but I wouldn't risk laying the great man either.
On Sunday night I promised myself I wouldn't back Sergio Garcia for a long while. Yes, you've guessed it, unbelievably I have decided to go in again this week. Garcia crumbled under the spotlight during Sundays back nine but during the rest of the week he played some of the best golf of his season. This is a new course for the players but Garcia has exceptional form in this tournament and that must count for something. Despite the issues between his ears he's worth a couple of pounds at [40.0].
We're only in August but it's been a long hard season for some of this field. One of the players who will be relatively fresh and still hungry is Jason Day. Day is not playing with a PGA tour card this year and as such has not had the option of playing week in week out. However, he's had some success in the tournaments he's been in and played well in this tournament last year.
Bubba Watson missed the cut last week, his putter was stone cold. The rest of Watsons game looked in good order, he finished 12th in this tournament last year. Yes he's missed four cuts in a row but (420.00)! C'mon, that's worth an interest.
Selections: Sergio Garcia (40), Jason Day (380), Bubba Watson (420)
