Go Luke!

"I wouldn't want to be laying Luke Donald at any bigger than his current [8.0]. He has a good first day draw with fellow in-form Englishman Justin Rose and there are question marks about both players currently above him in the FedEx Cup standings."

Dan Geraghty makes his selections from the 30-man Tour Championship field as the FedEx Cup comes to a climax

Luke Donald [7.8] is understandably a very popular choice to win here to land the FedEx Cup. He finished with a rattle last week to post yet another top-five finish, was second here last year and is coming into the event off the back of the best year of his career that has seen him rise to the position of World No.1.

Although there is opposition to Luke, largely because of his poor win ratio (he hasn't won a stroke play event in the US since 2006), I wouldn't want to be laying him at any bigger than his current [8.0]. He has a good first day draw with fellow in-form Englishman Justin Rose and there are question marks about both players currently above him in the FedEx Cup standings. Webb Simpson has been in fantastic form but finished with a whimper last week and a busy schedule could be catching up with him, while Dustin Johnson played very poorly at East Lake. Donald has a wonderful opportunity to send out the message that he's here to stay as World Number One.

Last week's headline selection Phil Mickelson [25.0] was very disappointing, however Phil frequently follows bad weeks with good weeks. The Punter was actually hoping Lefty endured a trying week at the BMW so that he could get a good price here and that is exactly what we have. He may struggle once more but I am happy to take [25.0] about Phil Mickelson winning in a 30 man field at a course he tore up in 2009.

Geoff Ogilvy [24.0] could be peaking at the right time. The Australian missed the start of the PGA Tour season due to a cut hand and has struggled to hit top form (despite performing with great credit at the Masters). However, Ogilvy holed a putt on the last hole two weeks ago to squeeze into the BMW field and his third place finish there snaffled him the last slot on the Presidents' Cup team and the chance to play this tournament. He was right up with the leaders at halfway in 2010 before fading to finish 13th and this week we can expect a confident Ogilvy with nothing to lose.

Dangers: Plenty of Aussie dangers this week. If you can forgive Jason Day last week's poor effort then he has to be high on the shortlist, Day has looked a much improved player this year. Adam Scott is a past winner here and has had a fine season while John Senden pushed himself into the FedEx Cup picture last week, he's clearly in good form but I really can't see him finishing in front.

Selections: Luke Donald [8.0], Phil Mickelson [25.0], Geoff Ogilvy [24.0]
