Big hitting Englishman can follow up good form in Spain this week, says Paul Krishnamurty

Usually, I tend to feel the market over-reacts too much to the previous week's golf. A classic case in point being Trevor Immelman starting at [22.0] last week in his first start since winning the Masters. If it hadn't been for that one great week, Immelman would have been in three figures as he had for similar events this year. Its strange then, that despite Robert Dinwiddie's highly encouraging recent form, he can still be backed at [100.0] for what is essentially a moderate European Tour event.

In finishing thirrd behind Darren Clarke in China on Sunday, Dinwiddie was enjoying his best finish since winning his Tour card. That effort can't be put down to a fluke, because only three events earlier the 25 year-old had finished sixth in the Andalucia Open. Equally, on his only other previous visit to Spain he'd made the top-five in a Challenge Tour event.

He certainly looks one of the Challenge Tour graduates to watch, doing well to earn his card after just two years as a professional. More encouragement comes from the fact Dinwiddie has already shown he can keep a purple patch going with back-to-back wins last August at the lower level.

The last time this golf course was used on the European Tour for the 2004 Seville Open, results strongly suggested an advantage to the big-hitters. So again it bodes well that Dinwiddie ranked seventh for driving distance in Shanghai, and he also scores well in par-five performance, which could be slightly more important than usual this week.
