"Ramsay clearly knows how to win, as illustrated by two Challenge Tour titles in 2008..."

Paul Krishnamurty is having a speculative punt on a Euro Tour rookie in the Czech Republic...

If ever there was a tournament that screamed '100/1 winner', it would have to be this week's inaugural Moravia Silesia Open. The latest in a season full of crazy Euro Tour results saw nine of the top10 at the weekend's SAS Masters start in triple figures, and there are strong similarities with this week's rather limited field. Whereas only five of the line-up in Sweden were amongst the world's top-100, that number is reduced to just four in the Czech Republic. As we've seen, if the big names fail, almost any of the rest can win at this level.

Not an event to go in too heavily at short prices then, and there are numerous plausible candidates in our targetted price range. My great fear is that last week's selection, Rafael Cabrera-Bello, will come good at a huge price though in fairness there was nothing at Barsaback to suggest a return to form was imminent. Instead, I'm having a speculative punt on another Euro Tour rookie, Richie Ramsay.

The 25 year-old Scot is one of the best from last season's Challenge Tour recruits, and has a few decent efforts to his name in recent weeks. Sunday's 24th place was his fourth top-25 in his last nine starts, which includes top-20s against much stronger fields at the European Open and Celtic Manor. Granted, this is nothing special, but it shows he can be competitive at this level, and further encouragement lies in some impressive long game stats recorded over the weekend.

Ramsay clearly knows how to win, as illustrated by two Challenge Tour titles in 2008, so it could be worth sticking with him when available at massive odds, such as [150.0] this week, in the weaker events at this higher level.
