It's an oldie but a goodie for Paul Krishnamurty as he continues to hunt triple-figure winners in the golf betting.
Picking out a triple-figure priced selection is harder this week than any I can remember. There are only 12 players, and therefore nobody at these odds, in the Nedbank Challenge. And if recent history is anything to go by the Australian PGA Championship will go to one of the market leaders. Seven of the eight winners this century were among the favourites with two players, Robert Allenby and Peter Lonard, winning three apiece.
Clearly, Hyatt Coolum is a venue that favours course specialists, and luckily for the purposes of this column, there is one of those available at [100.0]. In fact, Peter Senior was the one player to break that run of obvious winners, when landing the last of his 26 professional titles back in 2003. He further emphasised his liking for this layout when finishing sixth the following year, and also managed a respectable 12th in 2006.
Now 49-years-old, Senior remains competitive at this level as Sunday's 11th place at Huntingdale illustrates. Like most older players, he struggles to keep up in driving distance terms nowadays, but that has never been a particularly important attribute at Coolum. Overall, Senior retains a strong all-round game, and could be an interesting recruit to the Seniors scene next year.
