This week's hopeful isn't quite a three figure shot. But you know what they say, great minds think alike, and at the time of going to press, punters have halved the price on Paul Krishnamurty's pick for this weekend's Fedex Cup qualifier...
The most interesting statistical pointer from last year's Wyndham Championship was that four of the top-5 were ranked in the top six for putting average that week. Obviously, this stat is pivotal in any event, but I can't think of another where its importance was so pronounced.
One player whose name can usually be found near the head of these stats is [80.00] chance Joe Ogilvie. This is a massive week for Ogilvie as he currently sits in 120th place on the Fedex Cup points list; just inside the cut line. He couldn't really have picked a better venue for the final qualifying event, as he played his college golf in North Carolina and won a Nationwide Tour title on the course back in 1998.
Moreover, it would seem that the pending Fedex Cup has rejuvenated Ogilvie after a disappointing first half of 2009. His latest event brought by far his best performance of the season, finishing a close fourth at the Reno-Tahoe Open.
