Big-hitting big-man is available at a big price.

Cameron Beckman's triumph on Sunday, matched in-running at odds of [1000.0], continued the amazing run of big-priced winners on the PGA Tour. Since the beginning of the Fall Series, the lowest priced winner has been [65.0] and all four other winners started at well over [100.0]. Moreover, all five were either on or below 125th place on the Money List going into the week, the crucial cut-line in determining next year's PGA Tour playing rights.

Evidently, these qualification issues offer a useful betting pointer for the final fortnight of the season and for years to come. Though clearly anyone below 125th place can't have had much of a season to shout about, there are many potential winners down there to consider in what are pivotal points in their careers. And they're always available at big odds.

This week's selection then is the man currently in 135th place, Jason Gore, who is currently trading at [110.0]. The main reason to support Gore is that he should like the set-up. At over 7,600 yards and with little in the way of penal rough, the course at Hammock Beach is expected to offer a considerable advantage to the longest drivers. Gore regularly ranks amongst the longest, and his only previous PGA Tour victory came at another course that emphasised driving distance in the 84 Lumber Classic three years ago.

Prior to that victory in Pennsylvania, Gore had proven himself as a winner with six titles on the Nationwide Tour. And with low scoring likely to be the order of the day this week in Florida, it also bodes well that Gore ranks in the top-10 for birdie average over the last three months.

His last couple of efforts have been disappointing, but previously he'd hit three rounds of 66 or better to registering 19th place in Texas, and a couple of top-10s in August and September confirm there is some competitive recent form in the bag.
