Chad Collins has been a top recruit from the Nationwide Tour

"History certainly suggests this is an event to be backing outsiders. Two of the three winners at PGA National started at huge odds, and in 2007 we saw what must have been the unique example of four triple-figure priced players competing in a play-off."

The Honda Classic has a history of throwing up big priced winners and Nationwide Tour recruit Collins would be just that

After promising so much right till the end, last week's pick of Rickie Fowler was a case of 'close, but no cigar'. Obviously, Fowler is nowhere near those odds anymore and may not be for some time, but there could be some mileage in backing another rising star at triple figure prices.

Chad Collins, available at [150.0], is promising to be one of this year's best recruits from the Nationwide Tour. Having finished the 2009 season on fire, registering four top-two finishes in his last nine events, Collins hasn't looked out of place at the higher level. He's made all five cuts, registered three top-20s and had a chance to win the Mayakoba Classic on his penultimate start. Significantly, Collins won on his last trip to Florida.

All of that bodes well for this week's Honda Classic, as the venue has already proved a happy hunting ground for PGA Tour rookies. Since the tournament moved to PGA National three years ago, a third of those to make the top-five were in either their first or second season as fully qualified PGA Tour players.

History certainly suggests this is an event to be backing outsiders. Two of the three winners at PGA National started at huge odds, and in 2007 we saw what must have been the unique example of four triple-figure priced players competing in a play-off.
