Can Willett hit a good streak this week?

"So far in his short career, Danny has fared well in Asia, making four top-30s out of five, and twice finishing top-eight. At odds of [130.0], it's worth taking the chance he can salvage something from a disappointing campaign."

Two very different golfers attract Paul Krishnamurty's eye ahead of the Barclays Singapore Open

With the favourite trading at [16.5], the Barclays Singapore Open appears wide open, but I'm not so sure that will prove to be the case.

Every previous winner had solid European Tour pedigree, and only a few Asian Tour players have ever got into serious contention. Furthermore, while the European contingent is substantial in number, many have never looked like carrying their form over to these co-sanctioned Asian events, generally due to struggling with different greens and climate. Of course that being the case, there aren't very many that take the eye amongst the outsiders, but while Peter Lawrie and Danny Willett have been hard to win with, both men just about fulfil both criteria.

Probably as a consequence of regular visits back at the start of his career, Lawrie has a record in Asia that reads well compared to his home tour. His last 11 attempts on the continent have yielded eight top-25s and four top-tens. Recent form is similarly solid, making the top-25 on seven of his last 12 starts in Europe, and finishing a respectable 15th last time in Valderrama. The Irishman is trading at [140.0] because virtually all of those efforts involved hanging around just outside contention, but he's been involved in enough final day action over the years to take seriously.

Willett has a rather different profile. Unlike relative journeyman Lawrie, the Sheffield man has been tipped for great things ever since turning pro. At his best, he is one of the best drivers in the business, and many of us expected 2011 to be the year he broke through and won, having challenged several times during his first couple of seasons. It hasn't turned out that way, instead being overtaken by several other young prospects.

Nevertheless, there have been signs of life in recent weeks, with top-25s on his last two starts, and ranking in the top-ten for the all-important greens in regulation stats in three of his last five events. So far in his short career, Danny has fared well in Asia, making four top-30s out of five, and twice finishing top-eight. At odds of [130.0], it's worth taking the chance he can salvage something from a disappointing campaign.

The trading plan is to have two units on each, then place lay orders on both at [15.0] and [3.0]. Should either hit the first target, six units profit will be guaranteed.
