Tiger Woods believes he will end his run of failing to win a Major from behind going into the final round, after seeing another title slip through his hands

It is now 29 Majors without a win when trailing after the third round for the world number one, after missing out on the US Open title by one shot.

Woods fired a final round 72 at Oakmont to finish on +6, but that was only good enough for tied second as Angel Cabrera (+5) held on to claim his first Major title.
When asked about his struggle to overturn a deficit, Woods simply stated: "I haven't gotten it done. I put myself there, and haven't gotten it done."
The American superstar added: "Finishing second is never fun. You play so hard, it's just disappointing.
"Even though at one point I was three back, I felt like hey, just keep hanging in there and you never know what can happen."
He refuses to get down though having missed out on the first two Majors of the year, saying: "My last four majors: one, one, two, two. Not terrible. But could have been a little bit better."

With doubts over Woods' participation in the Open Championship, 'None' is the 1.54 favourite in the 'Major Wins' market in Betfair's golf specials. 'One Major Only' is trading at 2.66 while 'Two Majors Only' can be backed at 12.

The 12-time Major winner is still the 3.85 favourite for the Open, despite claims he may miss the Carnoustie showpiece due to the upcoming birth of his first child.
