Rocco Mediate is leading the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill by three shots over England's Paul Casey after shooting a 65 in the second round.
Casey was overnight leader with Tiger Woods but after carding a level-par 70 in the second round, has handed the initiative to Mediate, who was in impressive form during his five-under par round to leave him nine-under.
Woods shot a three-over 73, but the American believes he is still in with a shout of making up the ground over the next two days.
"I hit some of the worst God-awful shots you've ever seen today," Woods revealed. "It was pathetic.
"I didn't drive it well at all and I had no touch on the greens - it was so frustrating out there.
"But at least I'm still in contention - I still have a shot at it this weekend."
Woods is still favourite at 4 to go on and win the event with Mediate trading at 8.2 and Casey 9.
Spain's Sergio Garcia who sits on five-under par is available at 11.5.
